IPL absolutely nailed what they were going for with this game. Unfortunately, I feel what they were going for was fundamentally a downgrade from Pathologic 2. I have a huge amount of respect for them trying something new and making a truly unique experience, but I think myself and many others really just wanted more of the same.

That being said, the atmosphere, story, and characters you'd expect are still there and better than ever, and the dynamic visual additions around the town really made a difference in terms of immersion for me. The gameplay mechanics on the other hand, while interesting in their own way, do not give the same sense of dread and feel a lot less cohesive than before. On top of that, this game is VERY buggy still, despite the many patches (which are still being released). Some of these bugs are game-breaking, and in a game like this, it's oftentimes difficult to tell whether something is bugged or if it's just Pathologic being Pathologic.

Overall, if you liked Pathologic 2, I still highly recommend playing this, just be sure to temper your expectations and try to go in with an open mind.

Not my #1 favorite game of all time, but it's quite possibly the only one I would describe as "perfect". Go in blind, stop reading reviews and just play it.

I hate it. 10/10

- No native HDR support
- No DLSS or FG
- Menus are hard-locked to 30 fps. Attempting to mod this screws up the animations.
- Abysmal performance. Frequent drops below 60 fps with 7800x3D + 4090
- 5.1 surround sound is completely broken, you're unable to hear anything you aren't looking directly at. Only way to fix is to revert to stereo 2.0 system-wide in Windows settings
- Oh, and did I mention the game causes random shutdowns due to an unknown issue with Ryzen CPUs?

I got this game for free and I'm still not sure if it's worth the headache. If you're looking for a good space exploration game, try Outer Wilds instead, because this ain't it

This game. What can be said about this game? Not much really, otherwise I would risk spoiling something. Gone Home is an a "story exploration video game". In other words, it's not a game at all, rather a "walking simulator" which features a very moving storyline. Most of the people whining about this game didn't realize this as they bought it, which is really sad because this game is a true work of art. Like I said before, this game is all about atmoshpere and story, so if I say anymore, I will be spoiling something. But believe me, if you enjoy a good story, and manage to catch this game on sale (I got mine for $2.99, and personally don't think it's worth more than $4.99), then I heartily recommend it.

Audiosurf is a game where you can play using any music on your computer. It's kinda like a Guitar Hero/Puzzle/Racing game. It's addicting as hell, and I reccommend it to anyone who like ANY kind of music whatsoever. Especially metal. Because metal's the best.
