I want to offset the somewhat negative reception with some real critics.

The game looks very promising but it needs some work!
The graphics look good, the landscape and the environment are great, but garbage collection needs some optimization because I feel like that causes micro stutters (happens when I turn away from a big landscape to a more narrow fov area).
The character controller needs some polish. It feels a bit "strict" or restraining, air (strafing) and ground movement is not perfectly fluid. Maybe a bit higher jumpheight would help and smoother surface interaction because when I went to check out the house on the big rock I got stuck for a couple moments on the wooden planks, that's some rough collision.
The gunplay feels fine, gun sounds are great but ads animations feel "sluggish"? I get it it's going for a realistic feel, but when I held a Deagle at a real firing range, I was moving my head more than the pistol itself, the weight of the pistol feels anchored at the muzzle. Nobody waves their gun pointing a little to the right before bringing it to eye level.
Voice acting is fine, but the sound system could use some work, for exmaple near the house where you had to jump up, there was a geyser with an oddly broken sound effect, it cut off weirdly. Could use a big delayed thump or splash when the strange whale in the intro background bursts into the water. That would improve immersion by a whole lot.
Enemies twist and morph weirdly when they come into melee range. Might wanna take a look at the skeleton, because the mesh stretches funnily when the zombie wants to hit you.
Also I want to mention that the music is awesome in this game very atmospheric and hell yeah metal

This game has a lot of potential and it has a great atmosphere. Can't wait to play more, especially if it would let me trough the hatch cutscene. I get that a lot of people are playing but damn
