I got this game and spent four and a half hours flying around looking at everything there was to see. I was so mind-boggled and entranced by the experience of this game's magnificence that I was engaged the whole time. It offers a glimpse into our universe. It's like a dream. Every new system visited I felt like I never wanted to leave.

I saw beautiful auroras, strange multi-colored gas giants, atmospheres which neatly split into several layers of different colors, galaxies colliding. The most beautiful thing I saw was on the surface of a small moon with a purple-hued atmosphere. It was orbiting a huge blue gas giant which glowed a vibrant pink through the skies of this foreign place when it was in the sun. It was so bright that the planet had two horizons. One for the sun, and one for the gas giant's reflected light.

Space is scary. The sheer magnitude of it is incomprehensibly vast, and incomprehensibly empty. But space is also beautiful. I would leave everything behind if I was offered a chance to travel the stars and see them up close.

Easily worth 30 dollars. If you like space as much as I do -- then this game has the potential to provide endlessly to you. There is so much to explore here -- once you leave the proximity of our solar system you will be seeing things that not a single person has ever observed before. Once you leave our galaxy you can be sure of it.

I'm not this game's biggest fan. The team behind this game has made a lot of questionable decisions. For one: live service games are extremely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and everyone should hate them with a passion. Two: the balancing. They've consistently ruined a lot of fun loadouts, combos, and weapons, when this game is OBVIOUSLY meant to be enjoyed as a "have fun doing crazy ♥♥♥♥" kind of game. Then that isn't even talking about their whole anti-cheat kerfuffle. All-in-all, the people in charge of this game have lied and shown complete disregard for the community they fostered.

However, I have to admit that this game IS still fun. Even solo or with randoms in matchmaking. It's still pretty, it's still difficult, and it's just well put-together. I have to recommend it because the game itself holds its weight even if the devs seemingly WANT to see it fail.

I think it deserves GOTY to be honest. It's pretty good.

I have to change my review to negative after more updates and more playtime. The game is very poorly balanced right now. Breaking the lock of radar missiles is extremely hit-or-miss now, making the two main radar missiles (scythe and scimitar) extremely overpowered. Vehicles which previously could fairly reliably dodge radar missiles because of their small size or radar-resistant coating (Cricket, Chicane) are now forced to take the new ECM pods or just die. The fact that this game still lacks chaff is pretty irritating, considering how insanely strong radar-missiles lock is right now. The scythes and scimitar are /extremely/ broken right now.

Then there's the question of the Ifrit and Vortex. Currently, they are the best ground-attack and air-superiority fighters in the game for two very different but very awful reasons. The Vortex is so stupidly stealthy that it trivializes ground attack entirely. All you need to do to demolish the enemy is simply wait until you have nukes and solo bomb bases with the Vortex. It is genuinely trivial to complete destruction objectives with how overpowered the Vortex is.

Then there's the Ifrit. It's the best air-superiority fighter simply because you can fill its loadout almost entirely with scythes and scimitars, which are extremely OP right now. That's it, it's just really great at spamming.

Any other problem you have that somehow can't be solved by these two options can be solved by spamming kingpins, AGM-48s, or whatever IR missile you want.

This game is hilariously poorly balanced right now. I do /not/ recommend. Which sucks, because I loved this game when it first came out.

I want to have fun in this game, but it's just not fun. Even when doing well, it doesn't feel rewarding. The meta is so hard-defined that you are forced to adopt boring, easy playstyles in order to maximize your chances of winning.

This is a truly unique game. It's a massive shame that this didn't win "Most Innovative Gameplay." The scale that this game allows you to play is astonishing. It truly does give you cases that YOU need to solve - no linearity. You have to do your own investigation, come to your own conclusions, and find your own path. There's even more to it outside of that - with side missions and whatever personal things you want to get up to including thievery.

This game really impresses me. I wish I could put into perspective how satisfying it is to solve a particularly difficult case and look over the massive document you've built - all the leads and connections you've drawn, the dead-ends you've chased and backed out of, the witnesses you've talked to, the buildings you've searched, everything. Of course, you don't have to play that way at all. You could break into everyone's houses looking for evidence. Me, personally... I love the investigation. My investigations are thorough, nothing left unchecked. Looking back on the files after I'm done is a feeling of satisfaction I've never felt with any other game.

This game is TRULY one of a kind and fully worth its asking price. I ask you to give it a try.

I really want to like this game, but it runs so poorly that it's a pain to play. It's extremely disappointing that video-game giants like this consistently fail to deliver optimized and accessible products. My PC more than meets the advertised requirements to run this game on "high" quality and yet it jitters and stutters like all hell. Extremely disappointing. I'm glad I didn't pay full price for this garbage.

i want to like this game but it's extremely hit or miss. just like ready or not, its AI is hyper-aggressive and so accurate that it's impossible to survive. i'm not sure if something changed, but according to friends they had a great experience playing with two people. we played with five and it was near unplayable. if this game has difficulty scaling according to the fullness of your party - get rid of that ♥♥♥♥. for one reason or another this was damn near unplayable with five people. the AI were beyond unfair. its promising but i'm not recommending anyone buy it solely on promise. we've seen a lot of early access titles that look promising and fail to deliver.

The kind of horror game that I couldn't wait to finish - and solely because I wanted it to be over quickly.
I was skeptical right off the bat with the off-brand Aliens style space ship interior. Always a bad sign. Setting aside my own personal gripe with the assets used- the game was boring and uninspired. The gimmick of LIDAR doesn't actually help this game function as a horror game. Almost the entire playtime of the game revolves around walking mostly-aimlessly through hallways while occasionally coming across an enemy. The enemy encounters are extremely telegraphed. Any time you see a table you can hide under you immediately know an enemy will be nearby. Also, the enemies are very easy to avoid. I eventually stopped hiding under the tables entirely.

The story is not at all explained to you until the very end of the game, where right before the credits the entire lore is dumped onto you all at once. I guess because they couldn't figure out how to fit it into the game through anything else but text and audio logs.

The scares were not impressive at all. Almost every scare in this game involved seeing something standing still at the end of a hallway move when you get near it, or a monster jumping in your face and a loud noise playing when you walk through a door. The world building was not at all interesting. The level design felt extremely random and without a consistent theme. There's a point in the game where you encounter a huge statue of a screaming human face, which I can only assume was supposed to be a monument of some kind. The game seems to be set on a space station/moon base of some kind, so what kind of garbage ass set design is that? Its presence is never explained and there's nothing that relates to it in the story at all. There is basically no reason for it to be there other than to be a big uninspired set-piece.

As I said in the beginning, LIDAR serves almost no purpose in this game. There were very few moments where I actually was impressed by its usage. I feel like you could easily have just given the protagonist a flashlight instead of LIDAR-vision and it wouldn't have significantly changed the experience of the game at all.

Overall, the only thing I actually liked about this game was the voice acting and the music. I can only imagine 83% of players gave this a positive review because people just objectively don't understand what makes a good horror game. This was a very run of the mill, average, and unimpressive horror game.

i play through the entire half life series probably at least three times a year at this point. there's a reason why people call this the greatest game series of all time.

it's a good game, but it's not nearly as good as people make it out to be. this is one of those "funny screaming youtubers play together and scream really loud" kinds of games. except that isn't really that funny. and that's all this game has going for it.
