Challenging, well-paced, and beyond fun to play, Hyper Light Drifter is definitely worth picking up. Having backed the original Kickstarter just over 2 years ago, it's been quite a thrill watching this game be built. Although I thought I had some idea to what this game would be like on release, it exceeded my high expectations and then some. In between the difficult yet fair encounters, this game presents moments of zen and contimplation. If you pay close attention, this is where most of the story lies as nothing is outride told to you. There isn't much dialogue to speak of, but it's not a bad thing as the characters speak with vivid imagery instead. Disasterpeace's soundtrack creates a masterful ambience that switches between soothing and unverving to great effect.

I watched this game's development from when it first got announced all the way up to its PC release. My hype for this game was so high, I seriously considered getting an Xbox 360 just to be able to purchase this game. I held out, hoping for an eventual PC release, which we now finally have! And damn does this game meet the hype and surpass it. Everything about it is amazing! It's a creative vision come to life, with fun platorming, clever puzzles, and an entrancing soundtrack. Definitely an instant classic, and will be played for years to come.

I'd had the iOS version for quite some time, so when I found out it released on Steam I was very excited! It controls well on the iOS, but you just can't beat having physical buttons instead of touch controls. Great little arcade game with great replay value. Not only is the download incredibly small, but the game is Free! There is no excuse not to give this game a shot!

By now, most people would consider Geometry Wars classic, and I competely agree. Originally a minigame in PGR2, this updated stand alone release is a must for any SHMUP fan.

The FPS that nobody heard about, Singularity is quite unique. Highly recommend if you are looking for something a bit different in an FPS.

This is quite the gem of an indie game. The atmosphere draws you from the beginning, and makes you wonder where the game will take you at its conclusion. Personally, I found the puzzles to be quite easy, with only a few taking more than a few minutes to figure out. Most of the puzzles rely on your skills as a player to pull off the solution rather than actually figuring them out. However, this does not distract from how much fun this game is overall, with breathtaking visuals and great mechanics all around. If you're a fan of FPS games or puzzle adventure games, than do yourself a favor and take "The Ball" for a spin.
