Rimworld is a simplistic colony simulator where you run through the lives of your pawns and attempt to keep them alive and thriving despite numerous threats against their lives, whether caused by you or by the whims of the storyteller AI.

It is fun, engaging, and can keep you on your toes. Losing isn't inherently frustrating, especially when it makes a good story.

While I usually play with a lot of mods, I suggest starting out in vanilla and with the various DLC for a taste of what this game has to offer.
