PLANET ALPHA is a game that excels on its presentation - you get to (linearly) explore a strange yet beautiful alien world full of detail and to an extent, analogous of Avatar by James Cameron.

Unfortunately (and comprehensibly) being a game where not that many people were involved, some sacrifices were definitely made: technically the game can be a mess to the point of crashing or forcing you to restart levels due to some game breaking bug. The gameplay isn't that polished either, with okay puzzles and frustrating stealth mechanics (thankfully you lose little progress when you die).

Regardless, it's a game that made me positively speechless in a handful amount of times and I can't help but appreciate the developers for pulling this off. If somehow they're reading this review: take notes of the flaws sure, but also be proud of what you've accomplished. It's a good game and I interestingly look forward to what's next.

A bizarre, very short retro horror game that reminds me of surreal filmmakers such as David Lynch. There's enough content to give you more than a playthrough, however that can be a bit demotivating for some considering the pace.

Regardless of replaying it or not - if my first sentence has caught your interest, I strongly recommend Paratopic.

Short first-person platformer with a very minimalistic presentation.

Movement is really inconsistent, I lost count of how many times I had to restart a level over my character stopping in the air for no reason, specially during wall-running and sliding. As pessimistic as I sound though I can't deny I had some enjoyment here and there.

Music's passable and so are the graphics, the level editor is a welcome addition too so for less than the price of a snack... it's alright.

Alright, for starters: the import function is nice. It's a feature I didn't even notice at first, but you can import your old saves into the remaster - a lot of tedious achievements get instantly unlocked if you did them before, so you don't have to spend hours redoing waves at Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot or grinding for rare parts at Claptrap's New Robot Revolution. Unfortunately you might still have some issues with "The Collector", killing Crawmerax and others which on a worst case scenario will force you to beat the game once again.

The Enhanced version for the most part is a positive improvement over the original. Slightly better graphics, a FOV slider, a mini-map, better markers - these features are so easy to be taken for granted that I can't help but mention them. There're too some deviations such as loot drop changes, altered textures and little customisation items which are welcome but something you'll be only messing around for few minutes.

About the "SHiFT loot" I don't really know why would they add that - I guess they can help if you're getting terrible weaponry throughout your playthrough but after a certain point there're just, more and better ways of farming which give you the same if not better loot. Also last thing worth mentioning are the bugs - I've encountered more bugs in 27 hours of playtime versus the almost 100 in the original - a bizarre thing really, considering the latter has its fair share too.

Anyways, if you're looking forward revisiting Borderlands, Enhanced is the way to go - after all it's still that same flawed seed which sparkled a blockbuster franchise. Just, better preserved.

Featuring gorgeous visuals, a really good soundtrack, a profound story - She Remembered Caterpillars could be solely about the puzzles and I wouldn't blink an eye; but all of these extras do give a different flavour. A personality, I'd say.

Starting with the story, you get to witness a father attempting to explain the cycle of life to her daughter - there're no cutscenes, no animations: all of it is told through vague text which appears at the beginning of each act and level. I must admit it might not be for everyone, however I enjoyed it thorough.

As for the artwork, it truly stands out: pretty to look at. There's a compromise though, the movement of each caterpillar does feel in a way sluggish, something which might alienate those who're impatient. Personally I think it gives you room to organise your thoughts, expect a lot of trial and error in later levels so it's important to stay cool-headed. I can't also help but praise the soundtrack - Thomas Höhl's work could fit perfectly into a blockbuster movie: there's so much variety and attention to detail, you couldn't ask for better considering the rest.

Overall, a short puzzle game made by incredibly talented people with love and passion.

I don't think DISTRAINT is by any chance revolutionary or mind-blowing, but I feel like good psychological horror games are becoming scarce these days. Also - considering this was made by one individual, that's insane.

The tone of this game is depressing for the most part, you're after all dealing with yourself and the consequences of your decisions towards achieving success. I had some issues with the pace, thought it was slow at times however being a short yet dense game it wasn't really that bothersome.

Overall, it's a yes for me. Totally fair price and as someone with the sequel on my backlog - I look forward to that too.... someday.

As much as my reviews towards this franchise have a lot of copy-paste, they're focused on the "episode" at hand.

With this said, I don't recommend Healing Harem. It's the shortest of the three and also when it comes to the routes, they're quite unsatisfying - being a harem you're choosing who will the plot care for but technically (and according to the way their relationship works) you could have the three routes into one.

It's not a bad addition to the previous two (which were okay, not ground-breaking) but I think this one falls short if you don't intend on getting the rest.

Useless Goddess is my favourite from the franchise.

As someone who's reviewing the "three LoveKami's", it's hard to not repeat myself. Just like I said on Divinity Stage (and will probably say on Healing Harem), you're in for a short light-headed love story and as much as it's my favourite (because of the plot), there's not really anything that stands out. The visual novel does its job without being all flashy, and I can't really complain; it's another okay from me.

Bla bla bla get it on sale.

It's okay. Not as memorable as their previous title (If My Heart Had Wings) but somewhat entertaining.

You're in for a short light-headed love story which should last at least 3 hours (unless you skip the entire thing for the achievements). From the franchise it isn't my favourite - however I did find Sara's route quite interesting and possibly she's my favourite character from the three games.

Lastly I'm pretty sure I'll just copy and paste this on Useless Goddess and Healing Harem but - get the game on sale. The price of one game, should be the price of the entire franchise.

To make things easy for me, I'm going to divide this visual novel into two sections - they're not necessarily at a specific time frame, it's more when you start to comprehend what's actually happening (no worries, spoiler-free review).

The first section for me was quite boring and in a way annoying - the protagonist is constantly flirting at everyone, everything in a way seems so pointless, confusing; and as someone who's not really that interested in these (visual novels) for the "romantic bits" (don't really know what to call them) - I was very uninterested and unmotivated to carry through. However, the more you progress the more you start to realise there's something weird going on: once the pieces start to connect the visual novel becomes really really good: the effort of enduring the first section pays off. It's also the reason why I enjoyed the rest more - what seemed like a mess at first turned out to make sense later.

Speaking about sense, the translation isn't that great but at this point knowing MoeNovel I'm not really surprised; also keep in mind the Steam Edition is based on the ~For All People~ version released in Japan, which means you're out of luck if you're expecting +18 scenes. Personally I don't really care but that's me, you might want the uncensored thing.

Anyways, it's a bit hard talking about this game without spoilers so I'll keep it simple: you're in for a roller coaster of emotions that I recommend if you have the patience to go through the first few hours.
