Ion Fury is a banger in every single way, however I would prefer to have less sewers and more cyberpunk. Oh, and I might've developed arachnophobia - thanks Voidpoint.

Pains me to know Bejeweled 3 is currently overshadowed by those wack match-3 mobile games full of micro-transactions.

Trust me, it doesn't get any better than this.

You can only aim and shoot to the left, diagonal-left, up, diagonal-right and right. The controls are so bad the game forces you to camp into a corner because not only you're more inaccurate by moving around, you also reduce your chances of minimising the game window by accident.

I'm just glad it is over.

I don't know if it's because I've got used to the game physics, but Exertus for me was more enjoyable than its prequel(?) Inertia.

I liked the rocket jump addition along with its semi-linear levels - game's much more forgiving and feels nice skipping sections considering how wacky the controls can be. I'd add there's also some improvement in that area, however just like the predecessor you still have occasions where the character stops in the middle of a wall-run. There are times where you'll feel frustrated, but still enjoyable enough.

In a sense though, compared to Inertia it feels like a bit of a downgrade; graphics are more simplistic, there's no level editor (although I'm not even sure to what extent it was used) and it's shorter - Inertia has more content.

Still, if you liked the prequel you will like Exertus. Plus, for the price... I've had worse beer.

You have games pushing subtle micro-transactions, then you have DIRT 5 where the first thing you see after the logo is a "Hold A to go to the store".

Regarding the actual game - I've beaten the career/story mode under 4 hours [half of the events], rest is pure grind. It's a pretty game with dynamic weather, some interesting tracks and classes, but I would never pay 54,99€ for this even if they included the DLCs [which by the way, also too expensive].

Split-screen only works between controllers, bad luck if you have one controller and a keyboard. Playground is by far my favourite mode, you get to create and drive around player-made tracks which gives a lot of replay value, however in my eyes that isn't enough to carry the game out of lack of content.

I'd be fine with the mediocrity if it wasn't for the price tag - thanks to Humble Choice I got this for 1 euro. Now 54,99€ and you don't even have access to all the content? Big no.

P.S.: Turns out the Year 1 Access had some misleading advertisement, I recommend keeping that in mind if you're about to buy the game while they're still actively developing it.

After playing Late Shift and despising how annoying it is that you can't skip scenes - I was so happy to find out everything is skippable in The Shapeshifting Detective after your first playthrough. Sure, the first playthrough could use a skip button in certain actions, but the incentive to explore subsequently is there and that's a big plus.

So... yeah I liked the game. The trailer gives you enough information regarding the film's budget - it's rough in the edges, kinda clunky but unlike the previous example, it's practical.

Personally, I've never had that much interest in vampire stories and related - other than watching a bunch of shows for the meme. The best way for me to describe this novel is imagining a friend, a fan of the supernatural recommending Vampire: The Masquerade - Shadows of New York as a: "I'm going to change your mind".

It was enjoyable. Feels like a small yet satisfying snack, something that might not satisfy everyone but I'm satiated enough.

If you have the chance to play the prequel, I strongly recommend you to do that first - the sequel is a direct continuation and even if you don't necessarily need it to understand the plot, I think you'll be missing some considerable details by skipping.

A worthy sequel to an already good game. I feel like the pace is much better, there's more variety, less backtracking (not absent but noticeably less) and it refuses to overstay its welcome - puzzles might be slightly confusing at times however DISTRAINT 2's length is simply put perfect. Special mention to the soundtrack, a very noticeable improvement from the prequel as well.

Play the first game, and if you've liked it you'll definitely enjoy this one.

One of the consequences of growing up [other than more responsibilities], is coming into a realisation that certain times and thoughts will never come back. Pretty sure the expression "good old times" is often said by plenty of people; the nostalgia of living in a carefree world, the dreams we failed to achieve, our regrets, the things we left behind. Everyone keeps saying to enjoy our life to the fullest, yet I don't think we will ever fully understand that until we miss it.

You might be wondering what this has to do with the game. Well, it made me think - and that's also what it will probably do to you.
