helldivers gunplay attached to ready or not's teamplay and tactics, except it isn't steaming dogsh.t like those two games. PvP is a little rough given the sheer server density and how many people are playing this game, but the gunplay and my love of both Purple and Yellow attached to fake items makes up for any server issues i come across. snap hook blueprint #tuff

i was gonna play thru this game more than once to see all the cool characters in full, but after one playthru i have zero desire to reopen this game

the main villain's motivation makes zero sense. evil co-inventor, except the co-inventor is the genius who literally carries everything on his back. why is he evil? he can just make another macguffin? (which he does by the way, he has 2 of them)

invisigal is the biggest problem with the story though, because you have to cater to her every need in order to get Robert's character arc properly, and by catering to her you invalidate the choice you make when cutting Sonar or Coupe. it's a "choices matter" game, except your choices are "get sexually assaulted and like it" or "get sexually assaulted and have no character arc"

3/10 saved from sh.tdom by the side characters. shoutout Prism "f.ck you mean temporarily?! b.tch you blind forever!"

the gameplay is pretty alright, music is good, and i get to goon to a twink while i blast sht with a railgun

the actual game is a masterpiece. great narrative, great characters, great performances, and seriously a top 3 game of all time in terms of its actual gameplay. no return is a slog though because, and i don't know if this is a me problem, it needs to compile shaders every level. my no return runs take like 30 minutes and 15 of those are spent waiting for shaders to compile. story mode did not have this issue. it sucks because no return is super fun but i don't want to spend half my time looking at laggy butterflies

yes buy phantom liberty. very fun items, very fun additions to the game, basically a sequel with the amount of content there is. base game is 20 or so hours long doing occasional side quests to level, phantom liberty is 15 or so. gives netrunners some cool ass options so if you like playing a netrunner you'll LOVE phantom liberty.

only downside is that STUPID ROBOT SPIDER AT THE END OF REED'S PATH. hate that damn thing
