The game that started my obsession with the series. This is the place to start if you are trying to get into Yakuza. Extremely tight brawling mechanics paired with a crime drama main story full of twists and turns. Zero is a serious crime drama, but its also full of ridiculous side quests that will have you slot car racing with a bunch of little kids, beating the snot out of punks for cash, teaching a dominatrix how to do her job, getting toilet paper for a guy who ♥♥♥♥ his pants, dancing with Miracle Johnson and tons of other wacky ♥♥♥♥. You would think the main story and side quests would feel at odds, but like the Metal Gear Solid series Yakuza does a great job of blending drama and humor. Some how Sega makes you feel like a complete badass adept at cracking skulls who also has a heart of gold.
