I waited for 10 years to play this. Technically, 11 years since this game was only exclusive to the Epic Games Store for a whole year. It was not worth the wait...

This isn't the Dead Island that I used to know. While the visuals look absolutely stunning and to be fair, you would hope so for a game that was in development for 10+ years, the other attributes of this game are just...outright bad. The mediocre story, the terrible cliffhanger, bland characters (no seriously why did they ONLY have Sam B for this game and then not use his character wisely), the numerous bugs, the lack of storage, the lack of weapon modifications, the combat, the lag, the garbage EOS etc. the problems are endless that it felt like a bore trying to complete the campaign and was it worth all that trouble? Absolutely not. It's that bad that I don't even feel like playing this game in co-op!

Do not buy this game at full price. Wait for a sale at the very least or just go back to the previous Dead Island games to revere in what made this franchise so brilliant and unique.

I'm certain most of these 'positive' reviews have been faked. How do you make the FIRST boss in the game impossible to beat on single player? Instant thumbs down to this game.

This is without a doubt the most boring and most tedious roguelike game I've ever played. You know your game is completely flat, when it's heavily based on RNG and has unbalanced characters. Did they even test this at all? They just mashed together so many different items, that you'll never be able to find a suitable build to get far enough. Also, the DLC makes this WAY HARDER than it needs to be. Considering it's near impossible to beat the DLC with certain characters is an instant thumbs down. This game is an insult to the roguelike genre!

This franchise is beyond the joke now. This is the WORST Call of Duty game to date! The quality has been going downhill for years and years and it'll absolutely get worse in the future.

The Zombies mode is, and I can't fathom this enough, incredibly boring and unnecessarily challenging. Zombies used to be so fun to play, it meant so much to the community that it was the only thing about Call of Duty that people cherished. More so than the campaign and multiplayer.

And multiplayer...? It is as I feared, it is the worst multiplayer system I've ever come across. Skill-based matchmaking absolutely killed this game for me. I'm always matched against the same tryhards and cheaters in every single match while guess what? My team are NONE of those scumbags, meaning we all get easily wiped out and there's nothing we can do to combat it. Enemies are always exploiting this nonsensical movement, which has proven to be extremely faulty than innovative. Not even possible to win any matches with this bullsh!t happening 24/7. Oh and by the way, can this game STOP freaking spawning me in front of enemies please??? It happens 10+ times per match and I cannot control where I am spawned!!!

Activision never listen to their community. They are a washed up and greedy company who deserve no praise, no positives at this point. They even thought they could get away by using AI images and cosmetics! Screw them!

I really do want to like playing this game. The artwork, soundtrack and enhanced graphics get a big thumbs up from me. However, just like the issues with the original game, the difficulty spike is unfortunately apparent.

Some characters' abilities become next to useless in the later stages and you really have to rely on certain items to get far at all. It shouldn't be luck based or RNG. To be honest, several characters are heavily unbalanced more than others, so what's the point in playing them exactly? This is just on Rainstorm difficulty by the way, WITHOUT any artifacts. Enemies do massive amounts of damage from the get-go and the character gives bare minimum damage in return. While I appreciate the fact this game has sliders to adjust damage given and damage taken, playing the game normally is frustrating. Don't even get me started on the Providence Trials... they are absolutely awful to tackle.

You're better off playing Risk of Rain 2, because this is one of the worst roguelike games I've ever had the displeasure of playing.

Super buggy unfinished game. Even if you try to get used to the clunky controls, the random and unnecessary 'minigames' ruin it even more. The game doesn't exactly tell you when the 'minigames' appear and what to do during them, but if you lose during these events, you're sent to a 'retry' screen where the game cuts to a black screen forever. Also, what is up with the dialogue choices and the 'story'? What even is the purpose of this game exactly?

What happened to this game? The layout has completely changed and is far too confusing to comprehend. The game now crashes every time you die and you crash when you pick a certain game mode (have no idea what game mode it is, because there's no text). For a free game, this is a rip-off and is the definition of abandonware.

I was originally going to post a positive review about this game... then I met world 3 and its secret level. That secret level is completely ridiculous and randomised, especially at the laser sequence. I've retried it over and over again and no matter what, the lasers are shot at random intervals. Therefore you're unable to 100% the game. Such a disappointing conclusion.

It starts off smooth like any other chess game... but then you hit a sudden roadblock when it turns out that one of the levels is impossible to complete and you cannot move on. More specifically, Level 71. I personally have tried every single moveset in the final move and nothing is working, even though I had to look at the guide for help. Disappointing conclusion.

The characters may be cute, but this game is quickly forgettable, because of how short it is. There's no replayability, because there's not exactly a 'story' tied to this game. The only thing that will kinda stay with you is the sudden ending. Good thing this game is free eh?
