While I would personally suggest having some basic knowledge concerning music theory with guitar before purchasing Rocksmith 2014, I highly, highly recommend it to any guitarist looking for new ways to practice and improve. It's easy to pour hours of time into the game, with a wide variety of songs, modes, and lessons to take in. Exercises that are usually tedious and mundane take the form of fun and challenging minigames in the Guitarcade. Practicing improvisation becomes a customizable, dynamic activity in Session mode. You can even get down to the nitty gritty and dial in custom tones in Tone Designer.
Overall, Rocksmith 2014 is a phenomenal training tool that is worth every penny.
