Not good, but not bad

Main problem(s)
- semi-Interesting concepts, smushed together incoherently.
- The overall stages (fortifying, farming, fighting) make the matches feel awfully slow especially with the Map Size.

Lesser Problem(s)
- Abilities are pointless...
(Some are just not practical, others are less effective than just using a gun.)

- Farming and Shopping are pointless...
(Never actually need to break or get crystals to buy armor or ammo...
You can just loot one or two chest and be fine for the entire match.)


- Unappealing design all around
(Characters-- Wardens-- Guns, tools, maps, ect. All forgettable and incohesive.)
(The game also has a blurry, muddy, unfinished look to every aspect as well.)


It feels unfinished.
Can see it potentially getting better, but at a foundational level it needs work.

The Game Is Pronominal.

So much so that even if it was a $70+ title i'd feel almost undercharged.

Vague Spoiler-free points of interest:

- Vividly crafted world design.
- Mysterious, foreign, and astonishingly immersive settings.
- Characters truly feel "Human" and "Real"
- Fantastic Sound design.
- Little to no hand holding in game play (Barring Tutorials)
- Brutal Combat (Granted, it is essentially all reaction based)
- Simple yet simultaneously in-depth Skill management.
- Fairly forgiving and considerate in regards to time and style of play (Will never accidentally advance story).
- Freedom of Choice in approach to certain scenarios and actions.


The ONLY Negative I have as of yet:

- No indications of perfect timing.
(Seemingly expects or even encourages death and reattempts until learning enemy attack patterns)

- Inability to skip cut-scenes?
(If you die to a boss, it seems like you HAVE to watch the scene over again... Luckily these are not too long.)

If you're hesitant or cautious of the game:
- Give it a single hour to prove its worth to you. That's all it needs.

FOR ANYONE HAVING CRASHES:

Might of figured out the reason and solution.

(Possibly) Related to Overclocking/Underclocking GPS.

If you are using MSI afterburner, return GPU to default clock settings.

Hi and Hello!

Let's get to some of the important stuff :

- Gameplay is both forgiving and challenging
(fun for veteran hunters, as well as first time hunters)

- The warmth and inviting atmosphere invokes a curiosity that may just make any player lose track of time!

- The minimum and maximum requirements for what computers can run the game are not demanding.

- The first (estimated) 40 or so minutes are forced tutorial, but afterwards players are given free reign~

- Veteran hunters will feel at home with Monster Hunter: Rise!

- New Hunters-- although they will be lost or overwhelmed for a brief period-- will be welcomed by the game

A cautionary note and solution method :

- There are two three bugs that I personally have witnessed and experienced.
1.) Crashing during-- what I assume are specific-- Hunts.
(I cannot recall the specific error message.)
(the solution for this is to ensure the game is prioritized in your graphics settings.)
(a secondary solution-- in tandem with the first-- is to update drivers as it may be related to directX)

2.) Not receiving items gathered from expeditions.
(the solution for this is to simply restart the game.)

3.) [online play] crashing during multiplayer hunts.
(I assume the issue relates to Microsoft's Gamebar and attempting to suddenly record clips.)
(Not a solution, but I suggest not activating Gamebar's record clip shortcut command.)

Alot is going on right now for me. This game... I don't know, it feels like it helps.

Sucking you into a minimalist world giving you no advice or information.
It's like being a baby and learning how to walk for the first time.
Somehow it invokes that unspoken drive to keep moving.

I think I needed this.
