Rebel Inc sees you play as a military government that needs to fight the rebels in question while stabilising the region through development. The game is fundamentally about alternating investment between military and civilian initiatives.
For some reason your main enemy turns out to be reputation, and when it hits 0 then you lose. It is the most arbitrary and annoying mechanic.
Inflation and corruption are also enemies and because reputation is extremely difficult to restore, each level feels less like a matter of strategy and more like a matter of luck and finding the winning combination.
This ruins any sense of struggle because you end up fighting the system that expects you to do everything for everyone everywhere on a shoestring budget.
Consequently it's rare to have a successful fight back. You tend to spiral down into defeat, but if you manage to corner the enemy then you can win by stabilising the districts while bombing the crazy out of them. Unfortunately that is the only viable strategy and that is why the game is only 3/5. But I do enjoy it nonetheless. Buy on sale for the weekly challenges.

This is one of the best games I have ever played, and I do not say such things lightly. The cartoonish and stylised look hides an incredibly deep team-based shooter game that has not been surpassed in overall quality.
I didn't buy the game when it originally came out, but bought it after the Payload update around 2009, which introduced the Payload game mode. This mode is now the bread and butter of TF2 for me.
The classes all have strengths and weaknesses, none of them feel too overpowered (as opposed to being annoying on occasion). This is important as no one in this game feels invincible, but simultaneously they don't die too quickly as to make combat seem unfair or twitchy like in more 'realistic' shooters. And this actually makes the game more realistic in a way because while individual players can make a huge difference to a match, that difference can't be sustained without good, supporting teamwork.
Maps can feel very tactical and strategic and yet this is achieved organically. Players naturally group together to support each other and there's a lot of back and forth in various areas before any decisive battle.
In short, this is a great game with a lot of substance. Others complain that there's too many items and cosmetics and noobs. Well those complaints are not illegitimate, but they are wholly exaggerated. This game is simply great.

Great game where you fit out a factory with machines to make medicine.
You have to adjust the concentration of ingredients and then put them through the correct machine to upgrade them to a new and more complex treatment. Or you can flood the market with cheap medicine for common ailments.
The hardest treatments require extensive lines of machines, requiring large rooms, and operate slowly, meaning there's always going to be a shortage of that drug.
The game can get repetitive. I recommend it with the DLC (actually it's pretty much mandatory). I like this game.

If you liked Red Orchestra 2 or Rising Storm 1, then you will probably like this. If you didn't, then you probably won't.

Aiming and moving are a bit easier now, in addition to the standardisation of automatic weapons. It makes the game faster, more brutal, and more engaging. On the other hand, the clunky movement, while improved, is still clunky. The engine is showing its age, but the graphics are not bad. Good post-release support.

Recommended for fans of realistic action shooters.
