This is the best story I've experienced since Xenoblade Chronicles back on the Wii. 11/10. Lorien Testard, you are a musical genius. I listen to your music at work or when driving constantly.

Do the devs not know how to release a patch that doesn't require an entire second install of the game? Game is 154gbs. I have 157 gbs free. And I'm told I don't have enough space to install an update? Wild. Having to completely uninstall and reinstall a game to update it in 2024 is insane. Unreal gives documentation on how to properly update an pack a game, and Steam also gives documentation on how to streamline this process. So evidently, whoever exported the files from Unreal had absolutely no idea what they were doing.

Game itself isn't bad, but was released broken and I'm not spending time uninstalling and reinstalling to update a game that will still be broken when this patch is applied.

I played the first Mirror's Edge back in the day, and was hoping this would be a good reboot. In some ways, it was quite good. In other ways? God no.

Story
The story is pretty abysmal. You get a constant sense that SOMETHING is about to happen after whatever mission you just completed, but nothing ever does. Plenty of plot threads are brought up, and then never go anywhere. Even the ending is terrible, being a non-ending that resolves none of the questions brought up during the game. It didn't even feel like an ending. Some people will argue that this game is simply a setup for a franchise, Catalyst being in the name and all. I disagree. A game being a setup for more games is even LESS of an excuse to have such terrible storytelling, since it makes people disinterested in any sequels. Such thinking reeks of being a copout. It's also been 5 years with no sequel in sight, so take that for what it's worth as well.

Gameplay
The gameplay itself is generally pretty fun, but the controls are... inconsistent. Many times I've tried to jump in a straight line, only to end up being magnetically drawn to a wall and forced to wallrun. Other times, I've tried to wallrun and wallclimbed instead (despite being parallel with the wall) or simply not engaged it at all, flying off of a building. The Dash time trials exacerbated this for me quite a bit, requiring many attempts due to Faith deciding to randomly vault over a railing instead of springboarding despite me holding the jump key, or doing the exact opposite. When it works, it's a fun game with a good flow. Unfortunately for me, it didn't work enough to become and extreme annoyance.

Replayability:
I have spent a decent amount of time AFK in this game, at 19.2 hours, and have currently gotten all but 4 achievements. The only replayability for me it to replay a few missions to get the collectibles in them. This will be updated when I get all achievements.

Graphics
The graphics and visual style are quite pleasant and one of the things this game does right. Unfortunately, the lighting engine is a bit wonky. If trying to collect hidden items at night, enjoy turning your monitor to night vision mode because the lighting will occasionally refuse to work, leaving entire rooms pitch black despite having lights hanging in the middle of them for minutes at a time.

Verdict:
Buy on sale. I got it for $2, which was outstanding. I beat the game and got all of the achievements in under 24 hours.

While the game itself is a massive improvement in terms of gameplay, graphics, and mechanics compared to Human Revolution, the story felt unfinished and lacking. More questions were raised than were answered.

Alright, now that all the games are out, here's my recommendations if you decide to buy it piece by piece.

Halo CE: Buy for the history and fun in co-op if that's your thing. Don't buy if you plan on running SPV3 or other mods that are only compatible with Custom Edition. Hasn't aged badly, but definitely feels dated. The Anniversary version included is based off of the broken Gearbox PC port, and as such normal maps on textures don't function unless you shine your flashlight on them. As a result, the original graphics mode makes the game look SIGNIFICANTLY worse than it did on the original Xbox. Ironic, being a remaster and all. The Anniversary graphics bring the game in-line with modern depictions of Covenant and Forerunner architecture, but sometimes lose the visual cues telling the player which direction to go that were present in the original release. Painfully slow shield recharge is something you'll get used to with time; insert obligatory comment about the elderly and patience.

Halo 2: Buy for the history and the fun in co-op. Don't buy if you plan on trying to run mods for Halo 2: Vista. Multiplayer has aged but is still fun. Remastered multiplayer is alright, but the visual effects tend to get in the way. In the campaign, I often found myself using the classic graphics so I could tell if I was actually hitting enemies. The Covenant Carbine has so many effects when firing that for me it obstructs the screen and is difficult to see what I am shooting at once I pull the trigger. Feels like 343 went a bit over the top with the particle effects and such. The remastered multiplayer is based off of Halo 4 if I recall correctly, and adds several new gamemodes, which are actually fairly fun! The remastered CGI animated cutscenes were also VERY nice looking. 343 did a good job with those. Music is also redone and sounds much better when using remastered graphics.

Halo 3: Buy for endless fun. Lots of custom maps and modes. Multiplayer is still pretty solid. Just like I remember it in all the right ways. The original MCC only allowed you to select armor sets and not mix and match like the original 3; this was fixed when the PC launch happened. The modding community for 3 has an almost endless amount of crazy content to try out as well. 3 is, in my opinion, the one that aged the best. I'm probably biased, since it was my first Halo game and my first M rated game back in the day, but hey, I like what I like.

Halo 3: ODST: Buy for amazing campaign and fun firefight mode. I slept HARD on this when it came out and only played through it once, didn't collect any audio logs, and primarily used it to get the Mythic 2 map pack for Halo 3. Boy, was that a mistake. While it does inherit the Halo 3 engine issue of people looking like sculpted potatoes at best, it managed to keep me invested in the characters and story. Soundtrack was AMAZING. The feeling of sheer fragility you get playing as an ODST instead of a Spartan on Legendary really gets the blood pumping when you see a Brute patrol up ahead and have to try to avoid it since you're out of ammo. Really a great experience all around. Firefight wasn't my cup of tea back in the day, and Reach does it better in many ways, but replaying the original still entertains me. Originally there was supposed to be a heavy rain in New Mombasa at night, but it was cut due to engine limitations. If there was one thing I'd change, it would be to add the rain and fulfill Bungie's original creative vision for the game. Isolation, rain, and film noir.

Halo: Reach: Buy for amazing campaign and overhauled firefight mode. Lots of custom maps and modes. Multiplayer is still a LOT of fun. This, being the last and most recent Bungie-developed Halo game, hasn't aged much and still (to me) plays like a very recent shooter. Gritty campaign more reminiscent of a war drama than a space opera, with a much bleaker tone and atmosphere. The mood as numbers slowly dwindle gets more and more desperate, with a satisfying conclusion to the story. Mods galore exist for Reach, just like for 3. Extremely solid soundtrack, as is usual for Marty O'Donnell. Reach was another game I slept on at launch, and I came to regret that quite a bit. Glad I finally got to properly experience it finally at 60fps with slightly enhanced graphics. Reach has been good to me.

Halo 4: Just don't. Nobody deserves this, not even your worst enemy. The HUD is needlessly cluttered with static text and solid opaque areas in the bottom corners. The new enemies aren't fun to fight, with Knights having shields that recharge RIDICULOUSLY quickly and will often teleport behind a rock the second you break them so they can near-instantly recharge. You'll often notice how fun it is to fight the Bungie-designed Covenant, and how slow and tedious it is to fight the 343-designed Prometheans. The new weapons are more or less copies of existing ones, with the Promethean weapons feeling like reskinned SMGs, Shotguns, Magnums, and a DMR/Battle Rifle hybrid. The story isn't very good either. If you enjoy seeing a playable character who is an in universe war hero get treated like an outdated relic by the new strong empowered female character, then you'll LOVE Sarah Palmer. Noticed a lot of this in the past few years, but this was my first experience with it back in 2012. From what I've heard of 5, the story has only gone downhill. Bungie captured the Master Chief perfectly; not too many details, and more or less a vessel for the player to occupy. 343 decided to completely ignore this and turn him into an emo kid with an emo AI girlfriend who with a confusing, illogical ending that doesn't make any sort of logical sense. How the hell does a hologram interact with the physical world?
Multiplayer was good and flowed well.

Well crafted game with good lore. Admittedly, the ban system is ridiculous. Hackers can invade your world and get you banned, but it's less common these days.

DID YOU NOT LEARN FROM WHAT YOU DID WITH SKYRIM, OR ARE YOU JUST RETARDED?!?! I UPDATED F4SE YESTERDAY TO PLAY THE GAME FOR THE FIRST TIME IN A MONTH, THEN YOU UPDATE IT AND BREAK IT THE VERY NEXT DAY? ♥♥♥♥ OFF YOU GREEDY ♥♥♥♥♥.

In all seriousness, if you want to mod this game, I'd wait to purchase it. The updates to the Creation Club keep breaking mods and script extenders. It's not good to mod right now. If you want to play vanilla, by all means go ahead, but you'll be the only person on PC playing a vanilla Bethesda game.

I love RWBY, but this game's dialogue is terrible, the villain is laughable, and the length of the game shorter than Mini-Me. The main issue I have is the lack of real differentiation between the characters, and the fact that I beat the game in about 3 hours solo. I got the early access copy, thinking that it would be about 1/25 the size of the game, but the beta was actually a good 1/3rd of it. Not worth the money, length wise or story wise. Could be improved by making the dialogue less cringey than a fat weeaboo, extending the story to actually be long enough for your friends to notice you're playing the game in steam chat, and dear god please differentiate the styles of the characters. To me, it's just a button masher where I can spam the same attack again and again. Maybe make Yang have more health, but weak until she's low on it. Make Blake have VERY low health, but good attack power. Make Weiss have good attack power until she's hit (being a perfectionist), which would throw her off and lower it. And just make Ruby well rounded. The characters all play the same; I may as well be playing as an Atlesian Knight.
