We were promised big maps. The big maps are claustrophobic and do not pass the vibe check.

The coolest/largest map they made was only released for a BR mode that doesn't need to exist. Forcing popup ads for a $100 dlc every time I launch the game I paid $70 for is extremely stupid.

Official hardcore mode does not exist anymore, we have been shoved into the Portal corner.

The UI is sloppy, unpolished, and built solely to lead you to purchase anything and every dlc and cosmetic they can dream up to squeeze from the playerbase.

Portal will save this game for me, but I can see EA/DICE backing away from it if it doesn't make them enough money. It's the primary reason I bought it, knowing that they can't be trusted to not just chase revenue.

After the season 1 update they took the mask off and showed you what "back to their roots" really meant: following market trends and keeping the capital flowing. They will slowly release more "big" maps to appease the angry crowds but BF6 is going to be a BR game with other game modes as an option, you can very clearly see where all of their effort went after the season 1 update installed.

Game launched a bit buggy but enjoyable with couch coop.

Their first update broke splitscreen. An update made a buggy game buggier and literally unplayable for us.

It took a month for the next update to release.

And split screen is still broken. I held out hoping they’d fix this tiny thing. I’ve lost faith. Refunding like everyone else here.

it reminds me of 2000s era of FPS games when I wasn't a depressed old ♥♥♥♥♥

This game came out 3 years ago.

It’s fairly fun but in the 5 hours I’ve played so far I’ve had multiple crashes and bugs. One where lost an hour of gameplay because the auto save simply just disappeared. Another where my auto save, after a crash, somehow lost my 30k yen and I had no money at all. I can’t recommend this, horrible experience.

Over a year later and this game still crashes constantly on steam deck.

so much potential, but a lot to fix. The story is fun, I love the idea of a soccer RPG. The matches are absurdly difficult (including the very first one against "toddlers") and the bot behavior is extremely frustrating. I'm not a *pro* at soccer games but I'm also experienced, and this was one of the more difficult games to figure out - to the point where I refunded it before ethe 2 hour mark, as I didn't want to be locked into this mess long term. I hope they add some bug fixes and figure out the AI opponent/teammate difficulty, I'd love to come back to this and play the whole thing.

I was going to write a long review for this game about how I love that it brought CoD back to basic, reminded me of the reason I used to play a decade+ ago. How DMZ was such a refreshing game type that keeps bringing me back.

But I got a "Disconnected from Steam" error pop up while I was writing the review, and I lost all of the positive notes I was carrying in my backpack. Unfortunately there's zero explanation on what this error means, or how to fix it, and hit happens every single time I start a session without fail - in every game type I play.


UPDATE: Good news, they got rid of the "Disconnected from Steam" error - huzzah! Bad news, they replaced it with "Your profile was disconnected" now. Fix your damn game.

Wonderful!

It felt so cool being able to walk 100% of the game with real life motion. I cannot wait to see this mechanic implimented in more games.

It has potential, but like a lot of combat sims it has one or two servers worth playing in and they are always full. I'll check back in a year or so to see how it's going.

My original review was very very negative, as the game was in an awful state when it launched.



2 years later I have returned to do a 180. This game is amazing, they fixed all the wrongs, added fresh content, and made this extremely enjoyable to play with a friend.
