If you like the Voice of Cards series this one is a bit better honed from the first in the series. The story is about as deep as the first. Buy it for like $10 or something though.

There are a few very random drops in quality in the game. There are a number of times you can hear the narrator flub his lines and then restart. Whether that's intentional or not I don't know but it is weird.

Combat is pretty shallow even compared to the first game. The game's design to constantly have you at 4 mostly present party characters means there are times when you are very happy with your party and other times when you feel like combat is a pain. Add to this Lac being the 3rd playable character in your party and being useless for most of the game past the opening.

Lots of weird design decisions in this one. A lot that would bring it down from the first game but also some nice things too. Overall buy it for the music and the vibe but only if you like the series. Start with the first game.
