150 hours in and not worth the time and energy tbh. Don't get me wrong, it's easy to sink a bunch of time into the game and think you're having fun, but it's addictive for the same reason plain gambling is addictive and not addictive because it's fun. Its strengths are overshadowed by its weaknesses, and all of its weaknesses are some varying degree of frustrating or downright unfair mechanics. Here are some of the pros:

- Creative wand building
- Great world and world gen - lots to explore and discover
- Pixel by pixel simulation is an interesting and unique concept
- Mods (which can fix some of the most frustrating parts of the game, but a game really shouldn't have to rely on mods for that)

And here are the cons:

- Wands can feel samey unless you happen to find the right spells/pieces to make a unique wand. In a similar vein, making a strong enough wand to get by sometimes relies a bit too much on finding certain staple spells (e.g. chainsaw, black hole/luminous drill, etc.). It feels bad to be barely scraping by on a run, trying to find a missing piece that would elevate the run, but simply not finding it and dying as you struggle to put the pieces of a good run together in a crappy seed. I've had runs where I'm missing any sort of spell I can use for a good digging wand, and being able to dig is pretty important to this game if you're going for a long run. Digging wands are also just incredibly convenient and helpful.
- Exploration takes a long time. It's not a fast paced game. At the start of a run you have to be pretty careful, yet runs can end almost instantaneously and very anticlimactically at any time. This combined with no form of metaprogression beyond unlocking new spells can really suck.
- Pixel by pixel simulation is interesting until you realize how much jank comes with it. Game crashes, dying because you get stuck for a second on a single pixel you didn't see or get stuck in a wall, liquids like acid or lava splashing up unpredictably, touching a single pixel of fire and lighting on fire, the list goes on.
- Enemies are kinda weirdly balanced. One pet peeve is that many enemies will see you from much further away than you can see them (love getting shot from off screen). On some runs you'll run into a ghost carrying a wand from one of your previous runs. If it's the beginning of your current run and that ghost is carrying a previous endgame wand, well, good luck with that. Overall, I always feel completely over or underpowered compared to the enemies, which doesn't make for exciting gameplay.
- There is not a lot of guidance in the game. It's simplest to use the wiki. Things like locations of interest or boss weaknesses/resistances are purposefully cryptic. This issue kinda comes down to personal preference, but it's my opinion that in a game where experimenting and exploring new things is important, you shouldn't be so severely punished for doing so (punished as in going into a boss fight and dying in an hours-long run because this boss is nearly impossible to fight with the current wand you're running). Also another hugely annoying feature is that you cannot modify wands outside of certain zones (unless you have a particular perk that is nowhere near guaranteed to show up). Given that wand building is such a core mechanic and one of the most fun mechanics in the game, this needlessly strict limitation is just annoying. Sometimes it feels like vanilla Noita is a weird challenge mode of what could be a really awesome game because of limiting mechanics like this.
- The game is just all around unforgiving. For instance, there aren't many ways to replenish health, which gets frustrating in a game where there are about a billion little and hard to avoid ways to lose health. Like the aforementioned getting caught on fire by a single pixel. Even if you put the fire out quickly, things like this slowly whittle your health away.
- Some perks you can get are downright bad for you. I'm not sure why they're even in the game unless you're doing some kind of meme or challenge run.

It's truly a one of a kind game with a lot of potential, but it's really not for everyone because of its flaws. Enjoyers of this game often point out that any run can be won or any death can be avoided if you have enough experience, knowledge, and skill---which yeah, that's how all games work. But you will bang your head against the wall dying in about a million ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ways before you get that experience, knowledge, and skill, and even then, the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ will sometimes be unavoidable. There are so many unwritten rules in this game to remember, and I personally just don't have the time it takes for all the trial and error to figure those out or find it fun to follow those rules. At the end of the day, you wouldn't really be wasting money buying this game and I can't say I regret getting it and the 150 hours I spent in it, but it feels weird recommending it because it's one of those games you'll probably have a toxic relationship with unless you're a particular kind of player.

This game is really chill. It's a city builder but with like a point system based on how you arrange your buildings and everything, so the award of planning out a village really nicely and fitting everything together perfectly is so addictive. It's super satisfying to place a building and land a massive number of points in one go. Really easy to sink some time into if you're looking for something relaxing.

At the time of my first review I didn't recommend it because there wasn't a lot of content, but by now I'd say it's worth reconsidering. A lot of features have been and are still being added, and that combined with the new mod support makes this a nice little game. If you're a fan of village builders this is definitely worth it. It's fun and has a nice aesthetic. I'd say there are still areas where I wish it could give you more control over your village, especially in the area of assigning jobs (I think it would be much better to be able to assign jobs individually rather than simply arranging the priority levels of job types). However I think it's a pretty good game and glad to see it's getting a lot of frequent updates and new content.

Good game, but generally I enjoyed the first one better. Don't get me wrong, this has beautiful settings and great level designs, just like the first one, but I prefer Akenash. Anyways, this game makes a ton of improvements and adds a lot of new equipment and tools. So let me say right now, get the game. Then if you feel like it, you can read my rant about the story:

The story is dirt. As a whole it feels like the devs made this awesome stealth game and were then like "okay now we need some reason for having a mean goblin running around killing people I guess. Lets throw some half hearted writing on it." The first half was a little interesting. I can say that I enjoyed that part of it, and I enjoyed the ominous culty vibes the dark elfs have going on. Then, about half way through, it kind of feels like the story just completely drops off, and then everything after that doesn't really make sense or seem important. It feels like it's just a series of barely connected events that require stealthing it up. And don't get me wrong, Master of Shadow's story was pretty rough and confusing, but at least it had some direction. Then there was the whole thing with Helledryn? Idk if anyone else noticed, but she literally just dropped off the face of the earth, came back for about 30 seconds, and then fell off a different face of the earth. Like, she was a major character?? You're just going to throw her out like week-old tuna salad??? And then we have the ending. I feel like you should be expecting the ending, at the very least, of any good story. Styx Shards of Darkness gave you a really exciting moment towards the end, and then BAM. Cutscene and credits. Not even a great cutscene. Very anticlimactic and disappointing as a whole. It was a fun mission though. Anyways I guess that's all I have to say about the story lol. It really bugged me, but it didn't necessarily stop me from having fun.

Good game, buy it.

For the first couple of hours I was so lost and I was really bad the game. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing, and the tutorial was useless. But now, 50 hours into the game and I still don't fully have a grasp on the many, many details of this game, but I'm at peace with it and really enjoying the game. The wiki and forums taught me this game. This game is really really fun, and I haven't even gotten around to playing a lot of other games I bought with this during the sale because I can't stop playing this game. I played chess with death, murdered not one but all three of my husbands, organized an assassination during a "prison break," had a priest exorcise a gate to hell (Like literal hell filled with the damned), and got taught martial arts by a drunk blind master who disappeared in the night after completing my training. I'm predicting I sink another 1,000 hours into this game before I really start getting into it. Get the game.

Oh and watch out for the DLC. I'd heavily research some of the ones you might want and straight up avoid most of them, especially since they're really expensive for mostly unnecessary "content." Wait for sales too.

The game seemed great for the 2 hours I got to play of it. Except once I got to the prison level, the game would crash without fail, at the exact same spot. The moment I stepped over the roof and the horizon came into view, frozen. Other than that it ran smoothly, and the game was really fun and enjoyable. I contacted support, and they were great, and apparently my laptop just barely doesn't meet the system requirements. Alright, whatever. I'm still confused as to why it ran perfectly on average settings except for that one exact point if my system doesn't meet the requirements. I mean, I'm not well versed in computers at all, but it just seemed weird that my computer could run the game fine except for a precise point in the game. My point is, I wouldn't get this game unless you can be sure it won't just quit on you out of no where like it is doing for me. I can't recommend a game if I can't play it /: My playtime added up to 2 hours before the crashes started so I'm hoping I can still get a refund.

I'm going to share my experiences with Skyrim "Special" Edition so far.

Like many reviews, I'll list the good and the bad and let you weigh them accordingly.

Pros:

How would I know literally every minute into the game it instantly crashes.

Cons:

Well you know those ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crashes definitely aren't a pro. What a mess you've made this time Bethesda, for real. I could barely get to making my character. However, I'll tell you from what I did see it looked alright. BUT, what could you possibly get out of special edition that you can't with modded Skyrim?? Seriously, I don't see a lot of improvement here. I sure hope Bethesda cleans this up quickly, then maybe it would be possible for me to write an actual review.
