Probably don't buy this game unless you're modding to classic on a private server and even then it's not going to be the same.

The first few months of Last Oasis was one of the greatest experiences I've ever had in gaming. An exceptional concept and game that the developers did not understand what to do with. Patch after patch, the game was made worse and worse over time, and the reason is because the developers were easily coerced by loud voices of casual players.

Because the devs were a bit naive, they caved to those loud voices in an attempt to appeal to many, while pushing away the dedicated few that loved this game. Of course, the many were never really there for the long term and would move on anyways, their demands damaging the game because they were not committed to the game in the first place, and before you knew it - the developers had lost their time in the spotlight and during that time failed to capture the dedicated few who were pushed out after each update, and so the dev that wanted to appeal to everybody, abandoned their game that appealed to nobody. It's a tale old as time.

I really, really miss the release version of Last Oasis and I don't think we'll ever see something like it again.

It's not worth your time.

Design is all over the place and universe is shallow and inconsistent.
Full of RNG modifiers and rolls that don't fit well into a 4x game
Very janky all around.
Doesn't really do anything unique.
After about 40 turns, winning just becomes a chore

Why this is called Mount and Blade 2 is beyond me, not only does it not change or improve on warband, the minor differences that exist almost make it a downgrade, and a buggy mess on top of that. The only reason it took this long to develop is because the devs are incompetent

As a huge Dark Souls fan, this is the one game in the series I highly recommend skipping if you're new to the series. The game isn't really related to DS1 or DS3 so don't worry about missing out on anything, DS2 was made by a separate team that didn't really understand Demons/Dark Souls and what made them good. Arbitrary artificial difficulty, a chore to play, and incredibly flawed mechanics. Consider this game effectively a Dark Souls clone, as it has more similar to the games that tried to emulate Dark Souls, than with the series itself.

Actually a genuinely good game and didn't deserve the hate from an unfortunate mix of fanbases that couldn't decide on what they wanted.
