Basically no or very light Pay2Win mechanics. Game progress happens mostly by playtime.
As a Hearthstone player since beta, I can highly recommend Snap.
The bundles of 1 or 2 cards that change on I think 2-week-rotation are bullock and targeted to whales. You don't need that to succeed.

After almost 70hrs ingame, I'm quitting the game due to the blunt acts of balancing by the devs instead of focusing on fixing the game itself.

You can not get invited by friends, if you launched the game after them.
You lose items at the gem NPC when you get disconnected.
Wizards and ranged builds aren't fun or viable.
You have to restart the game to get volume options active after changing them.
Too bad, I can't get a refund.

Game is still a lot of fun, bugs haven't been fixed so far.
New bugs since 1.0.7.0:
Some Areas can't be completed, if you immediately venture into the wilds before mobs have spawned (mobs don't spawn in already visited areas)
If you port to a buddy in an expedition without moving first, you tend to fall through the unfinished loaded map into a chess board style dummy area.
Uber bosses can't be challenged in groups.
