For those who want a game with more space politics and economics over space combat, this is the best game for you. The stories you can tell in this game, and the degree you can roleplay remain the greatest strength. If you are looking for a combat centered game, I would instead recommend Sins of a Solar Empire.

For $5 you can own this legendary classic. Tense on all levels, this game has you sending men into field after field hunting for aliens noone has ever seen. It uses real time as you hunt down UFOs to shoot down, but when you send your men down to recover wreckage, it turns into a highly stratigic, turn based game. With plenty of Technology, lore, and strategy, you will be sinking endless hours into this game. HOWEVER, this game takes ages to complete, maybe longer than anyone has to spare. Also, I had to look online to fix a lagging emulator. But after less than five minutes of searching, I had the game running. OVERALL for $5, why wouldn't you buy the game!?

If you do pick it up, look for OpenXCom to improve your experience further.

A step forward for the Total War Series. Improved AI, better UI, and a new and fully supported steam workshop for the modding comunity. HOWEVER this game has far to many DLC packs and expansion packs than I would like. OVERALL a bit pricey, especially if you are planning to buy all the DLC, but may be worth it if you are intrested in the genre and the Total War formula.

This game allows you to do so much. Anything really. The engine is perfect for making a humerous screenshot or a new Machinima. Maybe just goof around with friends as you race to build a spaceship. If you loved the freedom of Minecraft, you will love this.Not to mention that an active modding scene increases the possibilities. HOWEVER, UI could use some work and this game will only go as far as your imagination. Also, hosting a server with custom and modded content is too difficult to be worth it. OVERALL For $10, this game is completely worth it.

Most other "stealth" games allow you to go on genocide sprees when you fail at stealth. Not this game. Make one mistake and you can fail the mission and lose twenty minutes of progress. That kind of risk creates a constant danger throughout the entire game. Not to mention that this game is punishingly difficult but still remains fair. Even with the difficulty the player is never limited Levels are massive and encourage many levels of expermentation and exploration. Not to mention that a great soundtrack in the backround makes you fell like the Hitman. HOWEVER: This game can daunting to some and the difficulty may turn down many. OVERALL if you are someone ready for a challenge and ready to try a level over and over again to do it perfectly, you are ready to become a Hitman.

This mod fells like a game in it's own right. It is a perfect example of how a survival zombie game should be done. Everyone is racing for ammo and you get spooked whenever you hit a dark hallway. Great fun
