TLDR
The game is polished and can be fun at times. However, it's afraid of challenging the player, which can make it feel patronizing and predictable at times, which in turn can suck out the fun of finally finding the solution to a puzzle.
 
Long version
This game has been quite a journey for me. I’ve been following Mark on YouTube for about three years, watching him come up with the idea for this game, develop it, design everything, and overcome several challenges as a first-time game developer, and I’m truly happy to see the game finally come to fruition. However, I can’t help but notice one significant shortcoming in its design. In an effort to make the game as accessible as possible, Mark has created a game that afraid of challenging the player. You can easily see this in the level design; there are more tutorial-like levels than actual puzzles, which can feel a bit patronizing at times. The game spends a lot of time explaining how to interact with its mechanics across multiple levels before presenting a somewhat challenging puzzle.

On a brighter note, it’s clear that a lot of passion and effort went into this game. The game is polished, and the character movement feels satisfying to control. Some puzzles, particularly the final few, were fun to play.

Considering this is Mark’s first attempt at game development, it’s a remarkable achievement. I once tried my hand at game development but gave up too early. Sticking with a single project for such a long time is an impressive achievement in my opinion.

Lastly, if you’re interested in game development, this game should be of interest to you. You can follow GMTK YouTube channel, to see how Mark developed his design ideas, tackled challenges in design and time management. I would say there is a lot to learn from his experience, and playing the final product can give you incites for designing your own game.

Amidst the depths of the night, I'm alerted to a chilling murder case that disrupts my restless sleep. Despite my exhaustion, duty compels me. I arrive at the victim's apartment, only to be met by their lifeless body, sprawled at the doorstep. Perhaps they unsuspectingly opened the door to an acquaintance turned assailant, a gunshot replacing a once familiar smile.

Exploring the victim's appartement, I unearth a connection to a woman, evidence of their intimate relationship. Consulting the victim's contacts, I extract the woman's address, navigating the city's snowy, somber streets. As I progress towards this enigmatic figure, a thought nags at me—could she be the orchestrator of this tragedy? Only time will unveil the truth.

Arriving at her dwelling, a gracious woman greets me, her age mirroring that of the victim. I comprehend the attraction, her kindness radiating. After inquiring about the victim, I tactfully request permission to search her premises. She readily aids the investigation into her lover's demise.

Scouring the apartment for insights into the murderer's motives, I enter a room containing her computer. I delve into her emails looking for clues, startled by a sudden commotion behind. Swiveling around, I confront the killer, armed and in pursuit of the benevolent woman. Reacting instantly, the assailant claims the victim's lover. Swiftly, I restrain them before they can turn their weapon on me.

I hasten to the lady's side, but it's too late; fate has already sealed her demise. Laden with guilt, I offer my remorse—a haunting sense of failure to safeguard the innocence. The city's relentless nightmare persists, and its grasp seems unrelenting.
