This game is great for building communication skills. Wholesomely recommended.

This is a truly awesome game to play 2-4 players. It's brilliant mayhem. We played two adults two children and had a blast. Problem is, once you've played it through there isn't much appeal.

For the price, there should be more content coming.

I would definitely recommend this game for anyone looking for an immersive long term game. The content is so vast you can play for years. I would also recommend that you not gift this to your best friend because he's just going to edit his save game file to cheat and its going to ruin the whole game for you.

This product has no business costing what it does. In no way does it approach a reasonable value.

This game is pure arcade fun. There isn't much to it, but it delivers entertainment instantly and consistently.

My only complaint is that the developer decided to pepper the summary screens with f*ck's and sh*t's and c*nt's throughout which are quite conspicuous in mixed company and add nothing to the game experience. There's nothing about this game that should make it an adult game, yet it features adult language. What a weird choice. I have mixed feelings about my purchase because of this.

The bad: So much money, so little reward. This game publisher owes the community big time. Civ5 was unstable and often you can't even start it. They never responded to that issue. I've never been compensated for that. Now this version I paid a big price tag and didn't even get as good a game as the previous release. Hard to find friends even a year in who have put the money down for this game.

The good: There are some terrific improvements in the UI in this release over Civ5. Much easier for the player to know what's going on. Graphics are gorgeous but not terribly demanding.

This is a great idea, just needs refinement (basically a complete rewrite of the copy, and some minor GUI tweaks).

This is best run from Chrome. Don't start it from Steam, use the web site. That way you can research the concepts, which is necessary if you want any hope of enjoying the process. It's ridiculous that the author suggests you go through this game based solely on the sparse instructions given; especially because there are many many awesome articles and youtube videos by excellent teachers explaining the exact concepts you are learning in this app. You will learn a lot if you research the problems yourself. Why the author insists in trying to box you into the app is beyond me.

The author is going to annoy you with stupidity like this excerpt: "We could surely build a new truth table and try to face the problem of subtraction by elementary means, but we leave that as an exercise to you and as a catastrophe for your sandbox. Equipped with the wisdom of elderly, we can cease the fact that A - B = A + (-B) for our own good." There is only a very small amount of actual useful information there, left almost passive-aggressively unexplained to the reader. If an actual person spoke like that to me, I'd want to give him a wedgie.

You'll also have to find settings and disable the clunky retro minimal techno soundtrack because its about as irritating as the writing.

All that said, there is one redeeming quality to this app. You will learn something, which is the whole point.

I've played 100hrs of Halcyon 6, through a series of patches. Here is my quick summary:

You will lose interest in this game because you will inevitably cheat by quitting when your precious officer and ship is destroyed. Why? Because the game is so tedious and so clunky that you will feel entitled to cheat to make it more enjoyable. And that really ruined it for me, because I've never felt that way before about a turn based strategy game.

Also I feel like the point of the game is lost in the tedium.

Waste of time, waste of life. You could play a game of Civ in the time this game takes and have a much better experience.

Sadly, this game doesn't work with my MS Surface Pro 3 (Intel HD 5000). I did a lot of troubleshooting and installed Intel native drivers to try to overcome it. About 90 mins of tinkering before I gave up. On another laptop with GeForce 670 MX GTX it works like a charm on full settings. Too bad cause I wanted to upgrade but they have made this game far more graphics intensive than it needs to be.
