The vibes are immaculate. This here is a love letter to gamefeel, and more specifically sound design. When you drift through a snowbank and the tunes on the radio hit just right it's a transcendent experience.

A game ahead of its time, this title would have fit perfectly amongst the sisyphian streamerbait struggleslop wave of 2024. Plus you get some fun dung beetle facts.

What a lovely title, Blendo never fails to disappoint. Those familiar with their catalog know that while the gameplay is always good, the real draw is that special Blendo zest, the deliciously enigmatic lore, the way every character and message is dipped in a healthy coating of surreal humor.

My only complaint is that they moved away from the boxy human art style but I understand why they did. At least the cats retain their cubelike aesthetic. Otherwise, no notes.

Somehow this game improves on the gameplay while being technically less sound than its predecessor. The co-op is a welcome addition when it works, but the fact that you have to use a specific resolution setting (60hz Vsync) for optimal results is a little bizarre. Also there is no built in support for xbox one controllers despite DR1 working with them out the box. Even with the fix proposed by the community mine inexplicably stopped working about 80% through the story.

It's a fun time and worth the money if you can look past its flaws.

A lot of fun to be had and plenty of potential, I've spent a ton of time in this game but there is room for improvement. I love the variety of vehicles and occupations, as well as the level of customization. I haven't even touched multiplayer yet but that's probably also a blast.

My main gripe is with performance and optimization. I don't think it's an issue of graphical fidelity, there must be some sim stuff happening under the hood that makes my rig burn up. I also think the UI needs some love. However I can empathize with how these are some of the tougher aspects for a small dev team to address, as well as that this is a work in progress.

WIth that in mind I recommend this game with hopes that the dev gets enough support to put on the polish that this gem deserves.

If the idea of R Type, Isaac and Downwell combined doesn't get you excited then I'm sorry, this isn't working out anymore and I think we should see other people.

A great time. Played through with a friend and it took about three hours, which might not sound like much but I enjoyed every second and am already eager to start another run.

I highly admire many of the decisions made by the dev. For example: friendly fire. It's on for all, meaning you'll have to better coordinate with your allies but with some clever maneuvering you can also use it to your advantage when against multiple foes.

Then there's the use of physics, which can affect both combat and exploration. We acquired a wind spell that does no damage but deals tremendous knockback. Naturally it's great for blasting foes off cliffs, but we also managed to boost one another up to a hidden chest with some well timed gusts. If this wasn't the intended route we never found it, and I love that.

The multiplayer might be the best addition. As mentioned it made for many dynamic and memorable moments. The game is also at a very accessible price point. If I had to complain, there were a handful of desync issues with elevator lifts and item drops. However these had minimal impact and barring those few instances the game feels very polished and satisfying in all aspects. I even see that it's still getting patches as I write this, so who knows maybe they ironed those wrinkles out already.

Plus there's fishing. You can steal fish away from other people's lures and it's funny every time.

If you've played/beaten Death Stranding already you probably don't need to get this director's cut. Honestly the best change is the removal of monster energy branding. The bonus stuff is interesting but very much optional.

Kojima released this specifically to target fanboys like me who will throw money at him at every given opportunity. It worked too, the man's a genius.
