I don't play too much but this game is a blast to watch other people play. It's the simplest thing ever, and yet it continues to get me excited when I see someone playing it.

So For Honor is pretty cool.

There are a lot of people that complain about the game's balance immediately, and so I'll get that whole shebang outta the way right off the bat. In For Honor, a lot of what determines how "good" you are is based on understanding the core game mechanics - things like feinting, parrying, and learning to read your opponents. Take note of that last point. With that said, to truly "master" the game you have to get a character's unique movesets down. For example, you could pick up feinting really well, but discover that you really love Conqueror. Conqueror doesn't get to feint. So in that case, it's about knowing how your character works in the scope of the game's mechanics.

Once you've learned how these mechanics work it's a steady train of improvement from there. If you're struggling against human opponents, PvAI is useful - as is the Training Mode, which lets you have the freedom of practicing on any hero in the game. If learning curves followed by (guess what) more learning isn't your thing, you're probably one of the people who played it for 2 hours and quit because the story was giving you too much trouble.

That's fine. Not everyone wants the challenge and that's okay. For those of you who stuck with it, the reward was probably well-worth the time. It's very satisfying to walk into a Duel against someone of your level, play smart with your character, and beat them with the knowledge that skill let you do it.

Lots of people just get on here and write angry reviews about broken characters and moves in the game, though, so I'll address that next. To help summarize my thoughts, here's a table. (Note: This table represents my thoughts on the heroes, not exactly as the game has them listed. Therefore, difficulties and things may vary person to person.)

Now you may be wondering about my ratings for these characters. Well, they're pretty self-explanatory, so you take it as you want. I won't be mad.

Additional Thoughts
The graphics on the game are beautiful, the combat always feels very smooth, and the customization options are stupendously fun to play with. Getting metal for new heroes can be a chore if you don't get more than the Starter Edition, that is true. However, I've only got circa 180 hours into the game as I'm writing this, and I own all but 3 of the base heroes plus 2 of the 6 DLC heroes. If you really enjoy it, unlocking new heroes won't be a huge issue for you. And, to top it off, any gamemode that isn't 4v4 doesn't use gear stats, so the 3 extra heroes you get from your faction choice can be played to your heart's content. Ubisoft is kind enough to do events that lower their costs, too. Or you can just spend money on the game - I won't stop you.

If you enjoy a challenge and aren't afraid to spend a bit of time practicing, For Honor can be a blast. The whole experience is very smooth and the combat is fulfilling. If you don't, then don't pick up the game. Heavens knows it doesn't need more negative reviews from people sinking 0.5 hours into the game, rage quitting, and throwing (not-so) casual shade over a game that, like all other things in life, isn't for everybody.

I rate For Honor 8 large metal men out of 10 stinky weaboos.

You're either Michael Bay or Robin Hood.

As Michael Bay you blow everything up (Knight) and as Robin Hood you steal everyone else's lives.
So
To conclude,
Yes.

Dungeonland is a challenging, multiplayer experience. Playing the heros, you develop teamwork skills while also mastering your hero choice. Playing the Dungeon Maestro builds strategy and a better understanding of how and where to put your monsters, traps, and tricks. Overall a very fun game, and I reccomend it to players who like a challenge while also getting a good laugh.

I have only had this game for about a week and I already love it. This game outmatches other RTS's I've played in the past by a large margin.
It's extremely fun, and I reccomend it to anyone who likes a good challenge and awesome melee kills.
