Insane customizability, diversity, and not P2W or even P2P. A remnant of another era, where F2P games weren't trying to milk you for cash. It's well balanced too, with consistent updates that both rework existing mechs and occasionally add in new ones. The team behind it is very devoted, and the community is very friendly.

The game is a good bit of a grind, but its definately not required to pay for anything! you can go through the entire game without paying a dime with little to no problem.

this has become much more free2play friendly, compared to back then, and while i do miss the grinding and loot box things, its overall made a lot of improvement
