The gameplay is solid and fun. The RPG elements look well thought out and balanced, with three different specialist trees for each class. It's slightly too early for me to tell if any of the classes are broken and OP. You feel the right amount of "I am a powerful being" without the game feeling trivial. The pace of the action feels good, this is not your average GOW cover-based-shooter. Your skills give you the power to damage and heal simultaneously, which means you often have the choice of flanking, marching up close and dishing out pain without sitting behind cover with a rifle. This is also when the game feels most fun.

The difficulty progression seems pretty normal and well paced and I like the idea of upping the world tiers (think Torment level from Diablo) as the game progresses to get better drop rates. The gear system breaks little ground but once you understand the rules of play it has a decent feeling of progression.

The story and cutscenes are melodramatic to the point of comedy, but I think the game is self aware in this regard and so it ends up working in it's favour. Although, it did feel like I was meant to care about some of my dissolving squad in the prologue instead of cackling with laughter.

There is a degree of UI/UX polish that is lacking, for example like not being able to know what a debuff means on a mod when you're looking at a weapon (like "Vulnerable", or what the skill is without heading into your character menu ("Feed the Flames"... which one was that again?). This gives the game an artificial impedance to the learning curve. This would be minimised, or even acceptable, if the time-to-load and transition between screens was low or optimised, but it feels slow.

There are no dedicated servers for this game. When matchmaking, the experience you get depends entirely on the internet connection of your host. There are things that can be done to remedy this that other games do, such as choosing the host dynamically or trying to matchmake you with somebody who was a good connection. However, it feels this is often not the case. The game also doesn't compensate very well for lack of stable connections. I have had many issues caused simply because of the "Hunt the Prey" Trickster ability and lag.

There is a diamond here, underneath the rough. It is fun to play and I recommend picking it up, but maybe wait for a sale.

Despite a complete change of perspective, the game still plays very similarly and is going in the right direction during development. Latest update has been on time with expected content. Very excited for further updates.
