I've enjoyed team play at TeamFortress classic some years ago; also the open worlds of Stalker's and Fallout's, more recent: Borderlands 1 for the landscapes and co-op play. Recommended games: FPS: Far Cry first version - excellent at slower machines, Adventure: Dreamfall - The Longest Journey, for the story and the psychological effects it has.
