King Kazma 最近的评测

At the time of writing, this my second playthrough of D2, but it is only first time completing Act 1! I'm having a blast, yo!

For some context: I am someone who prefers to play ARPGs on my Steam Deck, and I have found great enjoyment in running games such as Grim Dawn, Last Epoch, and Chronicon on it. D3 was my gateway into the genre many years back, and I regret paying full price for D4 on its release. With all that being said, I finally pulled the trigger to buy D2R on BNet sometime last year.

After some tedious setup and online tutorials, I was able to run D2R on my Steam Deck through the BNet launcher. I was having a grand time, but I was experiencing quite a bit of connectivity issues, DC'ing sometime every hour or so (yes I know there is an offline mode but I wanted to try the online experience). Aside from that, although it's not that difficult to launch through BNet on my deck, it still added enough annoying mental friction for me to not pick it up and play as much as I would've wanted. Eventually, I stopped playing altogether, not even getting around to finishing Act 1.

Then surprise, the game came out on Steam! And with new DLC! What a lovely surprise, but the thought of rebuying a game I already had made me hesitate for a bit. But I am GLAD I convinced myself to buy it again. The game loads up so quickly and easily, and I am able to pick it up and play just the way I wanted to! I have yet to experience any sort of disconnection issues as well. The part that I enjoy the most is how QUICK it is to reconnect to the servers. I would sleep my deck for a bit while in-game, come back to the characters screen, then just change to the online character tab for it to instantly reconnect to the servers. I am so surprised with how fast jumping back in is. Having D2R on Steam now just makes the deck experience so much easier to pick up and play, and I am so grateful for it. Every day I've been itching to play some more!

One gripe I do have is that although the loot filter works in hiding item labels, it doesn't block you from picking them up. As a Steam Deck player, I don't really have the fast precision of clicking on items I want and usually will spam my A button around the loot to pick it up. In turn, I end up picking up items I filtered out. It'd be cool if I just didn't pick up any items that I filtered out!

This is the longest review I've left on a game ever and it's because I'm really enjoying and believing in this release so hard. I know the late game of ARPGs are generally more hardware intensive, so I'll gladly update this review if I have any issues as I progress. I'm just so freaking happy this game is on Steam now, man.

Hell yeah a new game for me to AFK fish that isn't Black Desert Online

As someone who fell victim for paying full price for Diablo 4 and as someone who was yearning for the feeling of playing PoE for the first time again, I heard nothing but great things about this game and wanted to give it a try.

Now, I play this game on my Steam Deck in my free time instead of doomscrolling on my phone. My brain is so much happier for it.
