this remake of the classic Speedball was a welcome surprise. the new visuals look great, the mechanics feel expanded, and the moment to moment gameplay keeps the spirit of the original.

that said, i can’t recommend it at a $30 price point right now. it ships without basic settings that should be standard, like simple graphics controls and accessibility options. the biggest miss is the lack of remappable controls (which they claim is not on their roadmap).

can't recommend it at its current state. get it on sale for $5 or obtain it using your "student discount"

Yes.

This game has a bright future. If you aren't completely tired of ww2 shooters and military sims, definitely give this game a shot. Has the tactical / team based gameplay of similar games like Squad, Arma, and Post Scriptum, but with more infantry focus. Of course beware of Early Access games, but this is definitely the more polished of the lot, while still having a lot of development momentum.

Cant wait to see how it pans out.
