It's a chill game that delivers a nice story in a sci-fi setting that makes sense. Overall, a positive experience that doesn't bring you down if you play it in chunks after work :)

It's good if you're looking for a pretty chill visual novel type of game.

Besides, every game needs to be a little gay, and this one checks out perfectly

Great visuals, cute animals, interesting gameplay concept.

The amount of times I managed to break something is very suprising. This is basically a linear experience, so the less beaten paths should've been fenced off better. Had to reload from checkpoint a couple of times when I got stuck in an instant death loop because I fell from somewhere. Or that time I got stuck inside level geometry for some reason and couldn't move at all. Visual glitches were also very prevalent during my playthrough.

From a narrative standpoint, story is weak and overly preachy. Sure, topple all the governments you want for all I care, but maybe don't babble about how your weird in-game religion is very great and such immersive for 3 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hours. What I'm trying to say, repeating the same idea every 10 minutes, and through that treating the player like someone who lacks both intelligence and empathy gets very tiring very fast. Show, don't tell, and don't narrate like a parent does to a child. I was glad that the game finally ended.

This game is for you if you take pleasure in getting annoyed. Possible spoilers, whining ahead. Duh.

1. Game touches on the topic of enviromentalism, and then happily forces you to murder whole forests full of animals for teh rare item drops, so that you can expand your weapon storage, and murder other things more efficiently.
2. Storage. Very limited, wow design, such manage, many time wasted, would not recommend. Mostly stops being a problem after a certain level, since you essentially stop caring about managing it.
3. Music in inventory menu is stuff from horror movies. Yeah, sure, it's nice in the beginning, but after a couple dozen hours you will have nightmares from this eerie tune. Why would you spend hours in inventory? Because #2.
4. Yeah, music. Why did the developers save the best music for the end of main campaign? Clearly, someone tried to pour their heart out on this, yet the majority of tunes you hear are of the corporate-elevator-background-music type.
5. Initially, pacing is not an issue: you explore the initial area, discover parts of the puzzle, help people. Then if you actually want to get stuff done and not take hours getting across the map, you will be forever stuck in a cycle of action - fast travel - loading screen - action - fast travel - loading screen. It's weird for a game that tries to be a bit emotional.
6. DLC > main campaign, period. Better pacing, more coherent story, and characters you can actually connect with. Besides, Sylens is an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Aloy tries to save the day by pointing out problems in the whole story, but you will reflexively start groaning at the action at the same time as her.
7. Stealth is forced. Melee is fooked. Controls are slow and imprecise. Direct fights are chaotic. Why I say so? Try defending yourself while being attacked by multiple high-HP machines. Can you actually shoot at something, or does it seem like damage control in PR department after their CEO's drunken tweet?
8. Travel to an undiscovered place tends to be a bit problematic. Hostile machines will chase you and shoot at you. Will you care? Probably not. But if you saw someone speeding across the landscape at maximum warp, you probably wouldn't even try to bother them. Makes sense story-wise, but gameplay suffers.
10. Environment puzzles/climbing routines are nice. Unless you fall down a cliff while trying to steer Aloy in a different direction. Shouldn't happen too often, though.
11. I don't really know if this is intended, but the "dynamic brightness" is just annoying. Stop adjusting it, I'm desperately trying to see where I have to go to next, but I can't see a thing cause it's too damn dark!
9. Oh, undiscovered places, environmental puzzles, and annoying lighting; cauldrons specifically. It was fun exploring the first one, it was something different and alien-like. I liked when they switched things around in a few, and made them either pre-raided or extremely short. I'd groan if I saw a specific cauldron was too long or seemingly complicated. Had to watch a few walkthroughs, because how on earth am I supposed to see this tiny yellow element, while the game tries to be Cinematic™ by adjusting the overall scene brightness.
12. Stumbled upon a few missions that could be boiled down to:
Game: DO THE THING
Me: But what?
Game: THE THING! IT'S SIMPLE, HOW CAN YOU NOT UNDERSTAND, DUMB MORTAL?
Me: *confusion of de highest orda*
Bonus points if The Thing™ has quest mark on an area instead of a specific point. At some point you will ask yourself, why couldn't they simply make a single mission for the whole game, with a single objective - finish the game.
13. Almost finished half the game with the starting gear. Then upgraded to DLC's high-end variants. Then tried to finish main mission. And got schooled by Sylens that DON'T ENGAGE YOU WILL DIE. I'm almost 40 levels above the suggested level for this mission, and you think I care about these puny cannons? *maniacal laughter*

Personally, had no problems with crashes, game always ran smoothly.

Historia może nie powala złożonością, mechanika do wymagających również nie należy, ale jest coś szczególnego w tym, jak odkrywając kolejne notatki rozsiane po całym domu odkrywasz kawałek po kawałku co tak naprawdę się wydarzyło. I to wbija w fotel - zakończenie.

11/10, would cry again. A must-have for anyone claiming they don't have feelings - after playing you certainly will.

Pros: You. Build. In. Space. And asteroids. And guns.
Cons: There's a top speed limit. In. F&$#ing. Space.

Two hours in and... It's not the game I hoped it would be. BL2 has this weird feel after a few minutes, like something is not quite right. And, as someone pointed out, it's the sense of power.

It does not matter what gun you have, how much health you have in given moment or how hard you're trying not to die. 5 times in a row for example. In 10 minutes. On the first boss. I might not be a total hardcore gamer but certainly I'm not a masochist.

Someone while making BL2 aimed for the moon, but overshoot a little. And it landed inside a neutron star. As difficulty, judging from other reviews, scales even more/worse with player level, I'm out of this party for now.

Buy, download, play and forget about the real world. It's as simple and cheap as this game is.

There are a few flaws of course, like stupidly simple physics and linearity of gameplay. But that's probably all of it. Because Skyrim is simple, complicated and suprisingly entertaining at the same time.

The strength of this game is its simple mechanics: left, right, avoid, collect, jump. But that's it. Everything else becomes either boring, annoying and/or impossible after a few hours of gameplay. The first level that you been through at least 10 times? Waiting X hours to play new levels? Achievement "Do gazillion hard things in single run"? Do these ring a bell?

Seriously, don't increase achievements difficulty to "virtually & masochistically impossible", add new ones instead. Let the player choose when he wants to play a new set of levels. Or even better: download "Voxel Rush" and play a few rounds. You will know right away why said game is more satisfying than Race The Sun. The key elements are: randomness, difficulty, game flow. One game has these, the other doesn't.

In the end you decide which game is which. With your wallet, of course. Having bought Race The Sun for approx 1 euro I don't consider it a waste of money. But in my opinion, it's not worth anything more than that.
