I've always been a big fan of survival simulator games and this is probably the most engrossed in one I've ever been.

Have been a huge fan of Project Zomboid for a long, long time and always wanted to get into C:DDA due to it's influence on the game but commonly bounced off the presence and execution of the main fork (as well as just a general inability to jive with the game at first - so not all due to the content exclusive to Dark Days Ahead - but I digress)

I've latched onto this game incredibly hard, it's rich mechanically and is getting consistent support. I've found it lots of fun to parrot around to friends within my circles and share our knowledge in a more insular fashion - I think it's one of the pros of these lesser "documented" (for lack of a better term) games, wherein it feels a lot more viable to have your own little personal hearsay circles, even if a little misinformative at times.

It's a good time, it almost bounced me off with the controls and the steep difficulty in regards to the first few days but eventually I started getting into a groove and then quickly felt comfortable not only with the basic scenarios but with playing some more novel starts (frankly, I feel like a mall start is one of the better ways to get into the game if you're at that "novice level")

Either way, it's cheap - even free via other means - and a whole lot of fun. Snag it if you like the genre.

game sucks

I don't really want to write a long winded review but I just wanna say the first game; Born Of A Dream, was completely transformative for me and inspired me to start creating art again, and this game is still as beautiful and special and I really recommend you play it

I got so bored of sitting through Mirror Dungeons I started applying for jobs in the middle of one

Just finished this game up and its a wonderful experience, especially a wonderful free one!

Took me about 6 hours to trudge through and collect sweet sweet rent money but I'm 100% gonna be double backing, as there was plenty of content I didn't even touch. I forgot to even enter the Casino.

Plenty of content, very fun combat in my personal opinion and i absolutely adored the characters and the general story.
Do yourself a favor and give it a shot!
