Fantastic, maybe wholly unique puzzle game. I'm not sure why it's not marketed as or really talked about as a puzzle game, but it functionally is. It can be fairly difficult from time to time, but it inspires very creative problem solving, which to me is where the bulk of the fun is. The mods are fun, but putting the game on easy mode and blowing things up gets boring pretty quickly.

Also, it's not really part of the game yet, but the currently in beta multiplayer is a blast and works fairly seamlessly.

Does a great job building atmosphere, and the sound design and voice acting are phenomenal. I can't say the story is anything special, kinda just a mash-up of The Abyss and Annihilation, but if you're a fan of maritime and/or cosmic horror it's worth a couple bucks and a couple hours.

Couldn't ask for more. Short and sweet.

Kinda misses a lot about what made the original movie great story-wise, but still has it's charm.

Pretty great gameplay though, if not monotonous from time to time. If you're not liking what the game has to offer in the first 30 minutes maybe get a refund because it's not gonna change too much after that.

Short but sweet. Don't go in expecting anything necessarily exciting, but the game still manages to keep your attention with some beautiful visuals and complex characters. Additionally, this is not science fiction like many have come to expect from the genre, but is instead of an older breed of hard sci-fi that you don't see much any more.

This game is like Hershey's chocolate, in that it sucks and I know its terrible for me and is produced under unethical circumstances, yet I keep coming back to it and buying more.

Don't be like me. Don't play Overwatch.

I do not like rhythm games, I do not like electronic music, I do not like anime, but I love this game.

Great game, tons of fun, lots of content, but jesus ♥♥♥♥ does it crash a lot.

That out of the way, this game is just fun. For me personally, it's some of the most fun I've ever had in an FPS. Critics are being way too harsh on this game. I don't really understand why, and I feel like most people posting reviews on steam didn't even get past the first mission and/or area.

If you play this game for just the first 20 minutes you're probably going to think it's pretty bad. Both through art style and game-play it feels like Destiny, a game that, in my opinion, wasn't very good or exciting. However the split second you get away from that drab, uninspired starting area, the game kicks it into fifth gear and stays there for the rest of the time you play it.

As for every other negative review I've read: just stop and smell the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ roses and you will enjoy this game. Rage 2 is not built to be rushed through, and to me that was apparent, but evidently most people decided to jump into an open world game and treat it like a linear one. There is tons to do, and it's fun as hell doing all of it. I was not once in a mission or area and thinking "oh god can't this just be over already". Yeah, over all the game probably has about 25-35 hours of content max, but this is a game that is much more about quality than quantity, and I'm fine with that.

If you're like me and you believe that games like Doom 2016, Bioshock Infinite, and Dishonored are the apex of what first person shooters can offer as a genre, you're going to absolutely love this game. Just slow down a little and look around, there's a reason Id (Doom, Quake, Wolfenstein) chose Avalanche (Just Cause, Mad Max) to make this game: it's open world. Keep that in mind and you'll have a lot more fun with it.
