They definitely put work into the remake, but it's still an older 3D platformer at the core. Here are my three main gripes (the game is fun and good overall):
It's fundamentally difficult to tell where you are in space compared to other objects. I mean, at least you have the shadow highlight, great. But the depth perception / object size uniformity or whatever does not helpfully tell your brain whether you can make that jump or not.
The whole game is on "easy" or "extremely easy" mode, but then the time trials are like... oh, you messed up one time 5 minutes into an 8-minute run? Better start all the way over. Like, maybe the checkpoints should snapshot your time, and then any resets to the checkpoint / deaths just add a time penalty at the end? That part feels very old school.
Did I say three? I think that was two. Okay third, you can only open one gashapon or whatever at a time. Great thank you see ya later

Fun and simple, solid little gameplay loop. Is the thing now to have a little basebuilding in between your roguelitery? That's fine. It gets a little too big imo. It's very not immediately obvious what buildings matter or synergize just by looking. I'm afraid to touch my town layout because everything is in an optimal position right now. I guess I don't have to!

Good darksoulsy with the 3/4 Diablo camera. I thought it would be Gauntlet Legends. No, it's more souls / Fable. I wish you could see the map when you were teleporting, cuz I often get lost in the menus. Also comparing gear is a bit confusing at times.

Choosing your difficulty is a fun new feature and it's going to destroy me! Really neat though and the hints are actually really helpful. I felt like I had exhausted most of the good multi-part deduction tricks, but I had to resort to the hints and it's actually making me learn new ones.

Update: Finished it, definitely the most engaging presentation in these Mosaic games so far, complete with a plot and everything. I enjoyed the cipher puzzles - I thought I would not, but your brain picks up on it. The pacing was good, the real-world trivia was good, the story was fun. Solid stuff. Some grammatical / typo issues every once in a while, particularly with "its" / "it's". I assume most people don't care.

It's Wall World! 2. Seems to be paced nicely so far in terms of difficulty, progression, that kinda thing. I don't imagine it will last forever, but the gameplay is fun to me. There's quite a bit more flexibility this time around in terms of mission choice, risk/reward and all that.

I think my only real complaint so far is that the prices displayed for items you can afford looks exactly the same as items you cannot - at least for the main currency. The secondary currencies DO grey out? Maybe it'll get updated. Maybe I'm blind and it already has been. Who knows.

Anyway, the aesthetic is great, the art style is well done and pleasant and non-ambiguous.

Oh right, speaking of ambiguous (like the prices), there are green blocks in mines that do the same animation as the money-get, but in green. Turns out that's probably health. I thought it was green for "money". But no, I don't think it gives you any money to break those. lol

Fun and informative. I like the option to toggle real and procedural content, and the wide variety of viewing and display options. Informative? Sorted? True-to-life? Screensaver-type? Actually I legitimately wish there was just a screensaver mode.

An OG and one of the more entertaining and regularly-updated survivor games. If you get too overpowered, it can drag waiting to get to the time limit, but... you can also just quit I guess. Good times!

Pretty solid little vampire survivors clone. Upgrades feel nice. The amount of walls/physical obstacles makes targeted/directional weapons feel way less nice. Maybe that changes over time. So far, pretty slow pace but a decent variety and the gameplay loop is fun enough to want to go again.
