The best battle royale game ever made. Hunt other players in an Old West zombie apocalypse. The single-fire rifles and revolvers make combat very deliberate. Who shot first rarely decides the fight. Positioning matters.

Be sneaky or be bold. In other games you only listen for footsteps. In Hunt, players will startle the birds and you will be aware of their presence while they're still very far off. You avoid shooting your weapons unless absolutely necessary because gunshots will alert the other teams where you are.

If you kill the boss and pick up the bounty, the whole server can now see you on the map. The sneaking is over. You shoot your way out or you run for your life.

This is what I wish CS:GO had been.

It's an early access game so my review is contigent on whether or not they complete development according to the specs they promised early on.

That being said, this game has captured me like no game has done since Team Fortress 2. The gameplay is strategic without being too slow. It requires efficient communication with your team if you hope to do well.

But the game forces players to move closer and closer to each other at a reasonable pace such that the action of the match is correlated to the movements you make as a team. If you want to fight as soon you spawn, go for the hotspots. If you want to gear up and stay hidden, move slowly and methodically and only fire when it's smart to.

Your success is more dependent on your tactial movements and positioning than it is on your pure reaction skill. A pro quickscoper will be largely outplayed by high-ground advantage or flanking.

The hardware requirements are very high but overall I definitely recommend this game. Hit me up if you want to play together.
