The game has a great and entertaining gameplay loop with various challenges and a nice selection of different characters, weapons and other items that allow for a solid variety of fun builds.
The game only has two different maps though, but they feel different enough that the lack of map options is rather trivial.

As far as price goes, this game gives you a lot of bang for your buck.

If you ever wanted to educate yourself on what life in the UK is like outside of the major cities, then this is the game for you.

While I do miss some of the edge and grit of previous entries, the game is both fun to play and tells a mostly satisfying story.
It certainly has some issues when it comes to pacing and I wish it had taken the time to explore certain factions, characters and locations more than it did. Dialogue choices are more about the attitude of your character than making any real moral choice which is a bit of a bummer from a role playing perspective.
All that being said, the overarching plot of the game works quite well for me and I think the game had a satisfying ending, the combat feels great, though I wish you could have more than three skills active at a time. While part of me will always miss the more tactical combat of the fist game, I think the commitment to going full action with the combat works better than the half meassures that we got in Inquisition.

As mentioned above, I enjoyed my time with the game, though if you're on the fence, I think it is fair to wait for a sale. 7.6/10

A somewhat short game, but I would argue that it has a decent amount of replay value.
The strongest part of the game is the gameplay which is excellent and just the right amount of challenging.
There are enough variations of enemies and level design to keep it interesting and the graphics are gorgeous and colourful.

Worth checking out for anyone craving a light hearted swashbuckling adventure.

Matchmaking takes forever, and you'll end up in a crew that is at most two other people and chances are those people won't still be there by the time the heist is done.

Game really ought to have some kind of lobby browser, cause I don't think anyone bought this game just to spend ages connecting to the servers and ages matchmaking, only to end up heisting alone.

The gameplay is fun, but I'm not sure it's worth the effort it takes to actually play, might be worth checking out if you have a bunch of friends who also want to play though.

I also don't really care for the weapon progression system, it's a bit slow and grindy compared to the previous game.

Solid game for the asking price, the gameplay is fun and the story has some great moments.
It is a bit on the shorter side, which is fine, but it means that a lot of character arcs get solved relatively quickly.
All in all a short, but satisfying experience.

While, overall a positive experience, there are certain things about this expansion that bothered me while playing it.
First off, Baldur's Gate is fun, and this is more Baldur's Gate, which is a positive, some things that bothered me in the original version have changed, various bags for scrolls and so on are more readily available for example, the maps are also generally speaking pretty fun.
The main flaw is the writing, the story is rather predictable and the dialogue options and reveals really felt like they were insulting my intelligence at times, and I was playing a mage, my character should arguably be smarter than I am. So a lot of the moments which could have had an emotional impact or been interesting twists and reveals are really undermined by the writers spelling every plot point out to you ten times over. I swear the Hero of Baldur's gate in this expansion would speechless if someone told them 2+2=4. The ending also feels like it railroads you a bit so that you can be at your starting position for Baldur's Gate 2.
A lot of the smaller interactions and quests were pretty fun though, and overall I think playing the game was a positive experience. I had fun playing it, even if the story follows a pretty standard pattern and is one of the most predictable plots I have seen in a while.

I would say it's like a 6/10 for me, so certainly a step down from the original, but still on the positive side of the scale. I would say pick it up if you're interested and it's on sale, I don't think I would pay the full asking price for it.

I think it might be worth checking out still, but

It's fun, the story is pretty engaging and you have a pretty solid amount of options for your character.
The game does show its age a bit when it comes to controls and gameplay when compared to newer entries in the genre, which might be a dealbreaker to some. I also have some issues with the game system it is designed around (like why is 18 strength different for different characters).

Worth a try if you like RPGs or D&D.

Look, there aren't many other games that lets you make an empire of barbaric halfling cannibals.

The value you get out of this with regards to enjoyment and playtime far outweighs the price.
