This guys 100% have an idea how to make a good game
Funny and useful interactions, many jokes, overall excellent gameplay

My only issue is grinding, it feels slower than it maybe should be, but anyway it's cool and fun game

Очевидно, что игре требуется небольшая полировка физики и системы заработка очков, плюс у меня в Дартсе будто бы не работало управление. Но в целом... это приятная убивалка времени для друзей и не только.
Интересно, какая публика будет собираться в открытых лобби.

Pretty (but basic in UE sense) graphics, good music giving you proper vibes and very, VERY GOOD AUDIO.
DAMN, THAT ONE GAME - I WAS LAST MAN ALIVE, NO POWER, NO LIGHTS, NO MAP, I WAS CARRYING BIG BOX TO THE SHIP, IT WAS SLOWING ME DOWN AND DISALLOWING ME TO USE MY SENSORS, BUT I REMEMBERED THE WAY HOME, IT COMPLETE DARKNESS WITH FEW RED LIGHTS, I WAS LISTENING TO THE MONSTER AND I DID IT.

YEEEESSSSS. That feeling was very, very good. And my team was also impressed.
Hey, btw. - I hate horrors.

But in reality I hate only those horrors where player can't do ♥♥♥♥ against enemies. My beloved games are Resident Evil, especially 2 & 4 remakes, Evil Within and Dead Space are also very close.
This game is not like that. You're weak. But you're not alone and you all can fight back with knowledge and right tools. Lower difficulties might be kinda chill and a little spooky experience, but locking in for clutch against monster on higher difficulties is something extremely tense, especially if you are a last alive member and you're trying 1v1 against all ods, this is very, very cool experience.

So, if you thinking about buying this game - honestly, it desperately needs more content. Only one ship, even without one major space to explore, only 5 enemies (you're basically 1v4 against big bad ♥♥♥♥), only 4 gadgets and very few guns with basic pistol for everyone. But it's early access, and for this state there is 100% clear vision, very solid core and fundamentally it's pretty good game. It's also polished (no real bugs for me, everything worked perfectly except proximity chat last time was bugged, but devs knows about it and working on longterm solution for fixes and better chat), it's cheap and I honestly believe in this devs.
But it's 100% okay to wait until 1.0 launch, obviously. Devs already sold 100k copies, I'm sure their financial future is fine. But at least wishlist it and wait until big news or maybe discounts. This game and this devs deserve it.

Man, how on earth random indie devs keep doing this?
Insanely fun game, potential is there.

I encountered only one funny bug, there was castle map layout with boss spawning troops, and they was inside walls attacking you throw them as they getting out of them.

Also camera needs adjustments, especially locked one. It's hard to manage elites while fighting boss or there is many of them from different directions. And one boss was designed against it, so basically I almost ingored that feature, because 99% of the time it was useless or worse. Only shields and sometimes big dudes with hammers was viable target.

But anyway, style, gameplay and MUSIC is so good. Foundation is solid, and I'm sold.

Arkanoid + Vampire Survivors, it's addictive as hell.
If you not sure - try demo, it's free, and your save from demo proceed into main game, so no time will be wasted.

Too punishing.
No proper intro and no proper tutorial leading into frustrating first try with almost 100% failure, and after that... I don't really want to try anything for a second time.

Too often you should repay you debts.
Too many demands from locals.
Too hard to properly manage resources.
Too many resources is useless for trading.

You always struggle with survival and can't do ♥♥♥♥ about it.
Cozy lookings, terrible and painful balancing.

Empty, primitive, with ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ netcode and cringe community.
Buy only with very, very big discounts and only for stories, maybe even in offline mode. Because random jerkers will try to kill you with 100% chance and you can't fight this abusers of every single stupid exploit this game has.

While overall game is excellent and unique, I can't recommend it for people.

My specs: RTX 4070, Ryzen 7700, 32gb ram, i have M2 SSD and this game can't afford stable 120 FPS 1080p on medium specs with Quality DLSS.
WITHIN FKIN BUNKER 13 HUB LOCATION. AFTER MORE THAN 2 YEARS FROM RELEASE. HOW.

UE5 just can't work properly, and Min/Rec specs is absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. This is either skill issue (by Gunfire or Epic Games, or both) or they all don't care.

"Kill the Brickman" has potential to be better, but probably not for me.

Worst thing for me from the start - game is heavily lacking of better explanations. Tutorial is overwhelmed with one-time only information, you just get 3 minutes of rushed basics and that's it. Instead of creating some sort of tutorial chapter with properly designed levels to teach player every aspect like shopping, ammo storage, bullet types, keywords, mission deals, clips you should use in special way to get extra damage and perks from it, and many other things, there is missing UI elements for reward structure, no real details and stats, and why the hell bullets simetimes flies where they want? Or at least it feels that way. Either I was just too tired, or there is a problem with overwhelming amount of things game asks you to understand at the same time. But anyway, bad for me.

Second, and maybe the worst overall thing for me - because levels are so packed with many (sometimes very tough) bricks, there is no multi-ricochet madness satisfaction you can get from landing that precise shot in narrow gaps between them. That satisfaction is something I missed while trying the game, and that's why I decided to stop it and refund it. Level generation is tricky, but maybe, even if the game will become (much) easier, it's something I was needed to... well, being hooked.

After trying "BALL x PIT" demo, where ongoing upgrades impacted your gameplay and playstyle immediatly, and where enemies moving towards you, creating gaps above them for you to use against them, it felt much better. Why I'm bringing up another game? Well, "Kill the Brickman" has similarities with "BALL x PIT", but sadly it feels worse for me in almost every single way. And that's fine, not every game should be perfect, and price sometimes greatly reflect that difference, but I just don't have enough time for so many games, especially ones which didn't click. I really wanted to support this dev with my money, but not this time.

Anyway, there is not so many arkanoid-like games and it was interesting to try one, many things are 100% fixable, so good luck with that and future updates and releases.

P.S.: also, in addition to other negative review, I also didn't like CRT filter and sadly there is no option to turn it off. Not crucial, but another little sad detail.

Look, I understand many reviews was from people playing this game regularly.

But me? Well, I just love couch gaming with friends. And let me tell you, this is the most fun fighting for us with friends, easy to learn basics and very hard to master, intense, epic and entertaining. That's it.
At least for that reasons it's fun, good and recommended by me. Imo better than MK and SF series.
