Having learnt touchtyping from the age of 8, I've played many games, from Mario Teaches Typing, to Typing of the Dead and verious random browser-based games. I've only played the first couple of 'levels' so far, but so far this ranks very highly in terms of aesthetics, and the story seems interesting too.

The way the narrative text is uncovered on the ground around you is a nice touch and really brings the typing controls into the story, rather than them being an odd combat mechanism. The themes of the words are related to the thing it affects, for example "Emblazen" and "Bonfire" for fires, and "bug" and "foe" for small enemies, while longer words are reserved for larger (and slower) enemies.

The only [slight] negative things I've found are that to hear the narrator properly I had turn the music and FX volumes down quite a bit, and the dictionary used has some fairly unusual words, so although it's fun to type, having trouble even comprehending the word, and not just trying to type without the letters reading, becomes the more difficult part, so it's more of a reading game than a typing game for me sometimes. The choice of words at some points were reminiscent of Typing of the Dead, with some pretty bizarre words.

This has become one of my favourite casual games. It starts instantaneously (which makes an amazing difference when you only want to play a game for a few minutes), runs flawlessly on Linux, and it's great fun.

It's by far the most fun I've had with a rogue-like game. It's realtime rather than turn-based which keeps you on your feet, but you can pause if you need time to reflect and strategise, a splendid game for 5 minutes of fun or an hour of frustration.
