The puzzles in this game are pretty boring, with most requiring no thought at all. it's just using the very sparse options given in the correct order which is often straight forward.

Getting any progress towards a build you'd like to try requires restarting way too many times. I easily spend over half the time in the first few levels just to have at least 3 non-♥♥♥♥♥♥ units plus an item that fits them and thus barely get to play much. And even just try to see what you get is not really possible since you need to get the same units multiple times to level them up plus get units of the same classes to improve each other, so you need to focus on one or two things at most and cannot adapt dynamically.

There should really be a reduction on the amount of randomness, e.g. by increasing chances for units of the same classes you already have, and similarly improve chances for useful items. A quick-start where you can start at say wave 5 or 10 with the ability to buy any unit at the beginning with a small supply of gold would also increase the time one can actually play the game.

This game would be way more enjoyable if it wouldn't basically be required to have multiple alt accounts, as skill points are required for various upgrades, e.g. combat, mining, crafting, etc. - you cannot mine high-level stuff without the proper upgrades, you cannot craft necessary tools without their required upgrades, and you cannot fight high-level monsters without combat upgrades.

Technically once you get to a very high level a single character is sufficient (since you can allocate only a certain amount of skill points at once, and any above that can be put into alternative skill loadouts), but until that time you'll need at least two characters, maybe even three.

I think the intention behind this was to make cooperation between players useful, but if you want to play with friends you want to do the same things together. If one player goes to fight monsters while one mines and the last one stays in their base waiting for resources to craft stuff, then it's just boring for everyone.

It crashed during the various (unskippable) intro cutscenes/dialogues three times. I'm not going to sit though these again.

The game would be great if it weren't for the community.

Stil, playing certain custom games or coop agains bots can be fun regardless.

The best ARPG I've played so far - mostly because instead of only using one skill like so many ARPGs force you to due to low number of skill points, you can actually pick many skills in Torchlight as skill points are pretty much thrown at you, and several skills are useful even with only one point invested in them.

It has the usual downside of ARPGs though - which is that you can just build for armor + life steal or life regeneratiuon and facetank everything in the game with no skill involved whatsoever. Thus it's fun if you want mindless monster slashing, but doesn't hold up for multiple playthroughs well.

Pretty fun free game. Has a small player base right now, but there's a PvE mode available and the PvP mode fills with bots if there are not enough players.

it's not pay-to-win, you can even unlock the premium battle pass as f2p pretty easily as premium currency can be gained every day by playing.

It's really difficult to know which spells are currently available - the display is in the bottom left corner of the screen, so you can either look at your spells, or at the battlefield, but not both at the same time.
If it were somewhere near the character or the center of the screen then the game would be less about casting random spells and more about actual strategy.
Even better would be if the targetting reticle would change depending on the current spells (e.g. red for spell 1, blue for spell 2 or such, with a shape specific for each spell like a wave, line, dots, or whatever)
