Started game up, it was extremely loud. Tried to find a menu to turn the game volume down, there was none. When I tried to play with a friend, I accidentally chose "Host Game" instead of join, and found there was no way back to the main menu that I could find, had to close the game and restart to get to the menu again.

Once actually in the game it was alright, but nothing special. It was very obscure what to do half the time, no indication of what objects are interactable and which are not. The area in which your hands have to be with an object to interact with it is extremely small. The ropes you climb were very inconsistent to grab because of it. Once you get into the main room it gets a little better, though the last room is really obscure and cluttered to the point that it's distracting and we spent over 10 minutes before we happened onto the mechanic the game was trying to have us perform.

There was also a lack of rotation options, snap rotation is something that should really be in any game where you're expected to rotate around consistently.

The lack of a real menu to adjust options, the lack of ability to go back to the starting screens, the lack of feedback from the game (pressing buttons doesn't make and visual or auditory effect to signal that it did something), lack of snap rotation, just made for a generally irritating experience.

Overall the game could use a lot of polish and better game design choices. The puzzles were simple and short, the game has little replayability other than trying to get the lowest score. It's not a bad game, I did get some fun out of it, just not enough for me to recommend, there were more painful moments in the game than enjoyable ones.

This being said, there weren't that many bugs, even if many mechanics felt stiff, unintuitive, or finicky. The game is only $3 at this point, so expectations weren't that high, so it was a closer call on whether to recommend or not. In the end, after playing it, I felt no desire to replay, thus my decision is not recommended.

I encountered numerous technical problems with this game, problems like triggers for making doors interactable or removing invisible walls when you're allowed to progress not triggering. I call these minor because despite preventing you from not progressing, they oddly enough are fixed by Alt-Tabbing out and back in. Some more major issues I had were allies positions not getting reset on death depending on the checkpoint and getting immediately spotted, in one section I had this happen and lost over 20 times before I managed to rush over and get rid of the 4 enemies in time.

Despite these issues, I still had a really good time with this game, the story was quite enthralling and the gameplay really picked up as the game went on. Oh, and the game is very good looking, very impressive visuals, and great use of modern tricks to keep good performance.

It's a fairly short game (around 10-15 hours depending on pace), not sure yet about how much replayability it has, but definitely worth a playthrough. I wouldn't classify this as a horror game, but it does have horrifying moment and a generally unsettling atmosphere.

I purchased this game 6 years ago when it was in alpha. At the time it was a game that showed a lot of promise. I sunk dozens if not hundreds of hours on the alpha, exploring the world, doing quests, even after those hours I felt like I had made progress in the game, I didn't feel like my time was a waste. I was excited to see what had been done to this game over 5 years of complete silence from the developers, many of us had got to thinking that because of the sudden success and numerous copies sold and the YouTube media coverage spreading the word, the developers had abandoned the project, having made a lot of money. In hindsight we seem to have not been far off. 5 years later the game is mostly the same, terrain generation has not gotten any changes except for some minor changes to structures. Towns and NPCs are pretty much identical, no new characters or classes. The quests are file but most of them just label your map with an area to fight and find an item.

And while not much was added to the game, a lot was removed. The entire progression system that people loved about the alpha was entirely removed, replaced with a vestigial system revolving around collecting artifacts. This system not only takes a long time to level up through, needing to get fully geared up in a region to be reasonably capable of getting to the artifacts, but the levels also provide miniscule buffs to stats that don't really matter. You spent 8+ hours to get 1 artifact, here, get a 1% boost to your riding speed on pets. When you walk into a new region your weapons and armor become worse than the starting gear, and worse than most of the 1 star items in that region. This is to prevent players from plowing through other regions because they are already very powerful, but there are better ways to go about flattening the games difficulty across regions than completely stripping away peoples progress. The idea was to make each region fresh so that you had more game to play and never get powerful enough that you find no purpose in continuing to play. However this has had the opposite effect for many, I spent so far about 21 hours, 14-15 of which were in one region, and the rest spent in another after I had finished the 3 dungeons in that region and gathered the 3 artifacts in that region.

I felt like the game devalued my time spent, that no matter how far I'd get in the game I would always be back too the beginning. When you finish a region, there's little point in staying there, the enemies become trivial, you've done the quests, you have the artifacts, you've defeated the demon gate if there was one, there's nothing left to do in that region other than grind for + gear, which is so rare I found 1 piece total in 12 hours, and hundreds of items, and it wasn't even for my class. So there's practically no point in staying in a region once you've gotten the artifacts, and there's little incentive to go to a new region, you're practically creating a new character at that point and restarting because the only permanent buff you get are the artifacts, which make practically no difference, and require you to regain the reins, climbing spikes, boat, etc to even benefit by the couple percent bonuses. I've never played a game that devalues my time this much. I may play more with some friends, but for the most part I have no desire to play more of this game, and I've only spent 21 or so hours on it, compare that to the 130+ hours I spent on the alpha.

Many people are defending the changes to the game, using the ever present "you bought it in early access". Back when this game was in alpha, "early access" wasn't as common, and it doesn't excuse poor decisions. You have a community of people who financially supported your game and are the reason you were able to continue development of it. These first customers are those who have the potential to become your most loyal fans, your most avid supporters. While games change over time, the fact that the developers disregarded the feedback of, disposed of the most loved features of, and still to this day don't put almost any effort into engaging with that core, foundational base of people who are responsible for your game making it to this stage, is disrespectful and a slap to the face of the people who supported you. When you're a newer developer, trust is something you work hard to acquire, trust and reliability are the pillars upon which most successful new developers make their way to success. The developers have at this point thrown most of the trust established in the trash, and people will look with more trepidation and reluctance when it comes to their next venture.

All this being said, the game isn't a "bad" game, it's just lacking the potential and interest the original alpha had. 6 years ago when it was in alpha, the game was $15, I'd be hard pressed to recommend this game for that price, let alone it's current $20 price. I'd recommend waiting a while, seeing if the developers fix any of the myriad of bugs, glitches, crashes and performance issues that plague the game on top of adding more content. I'd wait to see whether they decide to listen to feedback. For now I can not recommend this game for most people. Some people will still enjoy this game, others not so much.

Easily one of the most unique and innovative puzzle games developed in the last decade, if not longer. Challenging yet fair, this game gets you to think creatively, logically and to remove your associations of various objects. Highly recommended game.
