I've only played two sessions but I already know I need to recommend this with my whole heart.

The base concept of being a cute little rat decorating a cute little rat apartment with picross is already good but then as you play it more, it just becomes more charming. I spent more time on base character customization in this picross game than I do in most RPGs. You get periodic emails with rat facts and cute rodent photos and promotions for rodent charities like the one that rehomes retired lab rats. The game is unapologetically queer positive, with a bevy of unlockable pride flag stickers and props. The fact that the first ones I unlocked included the agender flag was especially important to me, as someone who's married to an agender person and doesn't see that flag around a ton. The upbeat music and cute rat art complete a deeply lovable package that's the absolute antidote to the barrage of negativity coming from the world in general and a large part of the gaming sphere in particular.

Oh, also, the square counter is gonna be a lifesaver when the puzzles get bigger. As someone who has 100%-ed Pictopix and thus spent a lot of time doing 40x40s, the simplicity and utility of just holding a button and doing a quick swipe is maybe the best thing I've seen in a picross game in a long time. The only other one I've seen anything like it in is Voxelgrams, and this feels more immediately intuitive.

Anyway, kudos and much love to the devs. I bought this on a whim at my spouse's suggestion and I have no regrets. This is going to be $20 CDN very well spent.
