ㅤㅤㅤㅤ Benjamin Leonard "Dex" Poindexter is a veteran of the United States Army and a former FBI agent who possesses a remarkable talent for accuracy. Struggling with a mental illness throughout his life, Poindexter relied on structure and rules to maintain his sanity with the counseling of Eileen Mercer, whose death affected Poindexter, leading him to stalk his former co-worker Julie Barnes. When he used his skills to save Wilson Fisk's life as a member of his federal escort, Poindexter was manipulated into becoming Fisk's personal assassin. He was tasked with killing civilians while impersonating Daredevil in order to turn the public against Daredevil while also ensuring that Ray Nadeem and Karen Page did not expose Fisk. Upon the real Daredevil's revelation to Poindexter that Fisk had manipulated him and had Barnes murdered, Poindexter turned against Fisk and went on a rampage at Fisk's wedding in an attempt to kill him. While fighting Daredevil and Fisk, Poindexter was defeated by Fisk, who broke his spine.

ㅤㅤㅤㅤ Poindexter agreed to an experimental surgery by Kenji Oyama to reinforce his broken spine with a Cogmium framework. Following a successful surgery, Poindexter was incarcerated at an institution, during which time he was given the moniker of Bullseye. Several years later, Poindexter was freed when Vanessa Fisk had him acquitted for his crimes in exchange for Poindexter killing Benny Cafaro and his lawyer Foggy Nelson, which pitted him against Daredevil once again. Bullseye succeeded in killing Nelson, but was defeated by Daredevil, who nearly killed him. Poindexter was convicted and sentenced to life in prison at Rikers Island, where he remained isolated. Over a year later, Fisk, who had since become the Mayor of New York City, tried to have Poindexter killed in prison, although Poindexter escaped and tried to kill Fisk once more. His plan failed due to the intervention of Matt Murdock, leading Poindexter to go into hiding as Fisk's Anti-Vigilante Task Force hunted for him.
