There is no challenge and once setup its just an idle game where you have to wait for it to finish itself.
The Time traveler doesn't show up when you start the game, even though it shows it in the video on the store page. Building the time machine and traveling to the future just pops up game is over text in the top corner of the screen but does not actually end the game.

Great idea, terribly done. It's like having half of a game. It ends when it decides. Wars cannot be won, you can't conquer your neighbors. You have a temporal device that you can't use if you want to test something like, IDK nuking Canada. I had a perfect run ready for the final election and set a temporal anchor but couldn't go back to it even on a following save. Instead my game just ended from an instant nuke . Most of the info screens show incorrect information and the numbers/rows are not aligned properly. The up and down arrows don't actually raise by a set amount. Some screens one up arrow will increase a rating others require 2 arrows and on other screens you need more like 4 arrows. You should also be allowed to go back in time after you finish an election. You should be able to poll your voters to see if you are going to lose. I lost by a landslide with a 60% approval rating in all sections on my first game. The events don't line up with your ratings, I had 10s across the board (listed as nines on the screen but 10 in the details) and yet I kept getting UN popups saying how bad I was doing. I really want to like this game but don't waste your time.

At first glance this is a great game.
Unfortunately, it doesn't live up to it's first impressions.
You will find yourself constantly struggling against the UI not your opponents.
The end game is an afterthought and the contemporary techs are not flushed out at all.
The DLC are unbalanced and broken. Example: If you go for a tech victory and even if you are very far ahead your opponents. It's rather ridiculous that once you research global congress they decided that everyone should have all your technology and there is nothing you can do about it. Even if you have maximum attitude to research, if the neanderthals decide to go with religion they all get your tech for free.

I know most people love this game, but it is just plain boring. Their first game was much better. I beat in a few hours and it was the same old slog the entire time. On a side note they spam you with purchasing the dlcs, which is very annoying. The first time I loaded the game I had to click through popups declining purchasing the dlcs before I could even play the game, not to mention their ads take up about 1/3 of the screen.

This game is bad.
The camera controls are non existent.
The squad controls a pitiful.
The graphics are very nice.
The Sound is so so.
The AI is terrible.
Resources pretty much don't matter, all you need to do is use you main guy and zerg stuff. With one ranged guy on defense.
Don't bother with this game.

Terrible game.
Poor controls, horrid UI, ridiculously easy, and extremely repetitive.
I beat it twice and can't bring myself to play it any longer. Mind you it only takes about an hour to beat it each time.

Absolutely terrible!
Extremely buggy, simplistic AI, TERRIBLE UI, unbalanced, and uninspired story.
I love the graphics and the look of the game. It really reminds me of old school games and some anime, but you’re really better off just playing an older game, or at least a different one. At most this game is worth $1-$2 but really just skip it.
(There are many more examples, I’m just listing the ones that bothered me the most. This game isn’t worth the time to list them):

Bug examples:
If you have a dual monitor setup and click outside the game you usually have to force close the game because when you select the game again and click anywhere except the dead center of the game (even then sometimes) the game will minimize and you can’t get back into it.
If you try to save a map in the map editor before placing start locations, you get an error telling you that you need start locations (great!), however you can never save that map even if you add the locations. Your only option is to close everything and start again. Add the locations and then save.
Even with battle animations set to skip all you have to watch animations every time a unit is destroyed.
Achievements don’t trigger properly Ex: s rank on all missions does not properly fire. I even tried playing the final mission again (yes I got s on it again) and it still didn’t fire.
AI example:
Enemy units that need to move one square to fire at your units just sit there on some maps.
Even if a unit can destroy yours in one shot it will always try to capture points even if you have multiple units surrounding it. So instead of you losing units you just put your guy next to the capture point and mow down the AI.
The AI will just let units stay where they are and fight one at a time, in multiple situations, instead of moving and attacking.
The AI doesn’t seem to know how to use abilities properly.

UI examples:
You have to always hold down your left mouse button to speed up the gameplay.
Instead of keeping the camera where you have it, it resets every turn to where it decides your base is and goes there.
You cannot load checkpoints even though you can save them.
There is no next/previous units button. There is also no way to select unmoved units so you have to search the map to make sure you moved everything.
The units don’t auto capture points if you end your turn on them accidentally(the end unit turn and capture buttons are right next to each other, I have clicked the wrong one multiple times).
There are no tool tips on skills. A number of abilities just say they will apply something, like virus, overcharge ect… but the only place that tells you what those abilities do are deep in the menu under help files.
You can’t really zoom out and even if you do it forces info boxes on the top and bottom of the screen so you can’t really move around the map quickly.
You can’t just select a unit and right click to move it or use a hot key, you have to first select the unit that actually click the move button then click where you want it. (IE no hotkeys for many useful things)

Unbalanced:
Unit balance is a joke. It’s really sad that unit the last couple missions your commander can solo all the maps. About 60% of the units can be one shot by a number of the other units.
The buff/degen system is a joke. EX: If you cast armor, aim, and overdrive buffs on a unit and the enemy casts an armor negative instead of canceling out the armor buff it just goes negative and removes all positive buffs.

As for the story…. If you like it great but I couldn’t find anything redeeming about it.

Sadly I can no longer recommend this game.
It used to be my second favorite 4x game. Now it is just average.
They removed a number of features from the original game to make it "More accessible". IE they majorly dummed it down.
Whatever I could deal with that at least I had the beta patches to roll back to.
Now they are starting to reintroduce some of those features, such as ship gates to teleport from one sector to another, BUT you have to pay for a new DLC to get it back! That's messed up. I still remember when we had 3 modes of travel, now if you buy Overlord DLC you sort of get 2 again.
Don't get me wrong, I knew this was going to have a ton of dlc and I didn't mind. Just look at my CK2, and EU dlcs. I'm happy to support new content for games I love, but I wont pay to have stuff taken away that was working great just to make me pay for it again.

FTL is way better but it's a fun game for a change of pace.
Its a bit too range dependent and the difficulties are sadly unbalanced. (I lost on yet another game of hard because I had died of starvation, doing 60 minute searches of every grocery, drugstore and apartment net me a whopping 3 food then entire game. On easy your literally throwing away food because you get 7-16+ per search.)

It's a bit weird how you have to get the right random item and hold it for the right random event that may never happen, but that's the same in FTL, you just have very limited space in this.

All in all I had a decent time playing it on normal and easy but hard was just a lesson in masochism.

There a number of bugs in the game. The worst being that it starts on the wrong monitor when you have a multi monitor setup, IE not on the primary monitor.

There are a large number of grammar mistakes, missing words, and other errors (such as dead people talking in quest popups and other decision not showing up in the text) in the "Quality writing", otherwise I enjoyed the stories.

This is a great game, IF you are going to play it while watching/doing something.
You spend more time waiting for things to happen than actually playing. (even when fast forwarded)
You are forced to watch the same things every game with no way to skip them.
There is a overbearing pressure to spend RL money to buy things in the game.
The inventory system will often not work and say to "check your connection", even though your connection is fine.
You often have to restart the game before you can open chests, its like the online system doesn't process your rewards until after you quit. (there is even a popup program that runs after you close the game).
If you play offline you can't get any xp, thus you can't unlock any items. I can understand this for random items, but the static stuff should still unlock.
If you want to waste your time get this game!
