Amazing how much can be achieved with static pictures and great sound design. This game oozes atmosphere and it's creepy as hell. The story, however, is like the protagonist's dreams - disjointed and hard to follow and the ending is abrupt, weird and buffling. Maybe things will clear up after playing the second game...
Use DGVoodo2 with Magpie to make this game playable.
A great game for any fan of Lovecraft. These guys get it.

Great level design, nice textures,tons of fantastic atmosphere and a really good soundtrack. But then there are bad controls and completely broken combat. The story is meh. The models are so-so, baring a few exceptions and the effects are minimum. Still, I ended up finishing it twice at different time periods and I'm not sorry. If they remaster it with better controls and combat, and add some more polygons to the models - I'll gladly come back for a third time.

A very nice slasher with pretty decent graphics even for 2024 (if set to use DirectX11 and 2K resolution), sexy protagonists, fantastic voice work and nice enough lore. However, the gameplay is extremely repeatative and the game constantly pushes your forward. It can get tiresome and frustrating, so better play in short sessions with big breaks between them. Also, the switching between the protagonists mechanic doesn't really amount to much and I, for example, barely used it, opting for Elara and her range attacks for most of the game.
The ending is a letdown, as expected, and the only way to get a "good" ending is by making a specific choise througout the entire game and sticking to it, but making the already difficult arena sections even more hard to beat.
I still enjoyed it very much, though doubt I would want to repeat the experience. Too bad the characters didn't get their own franchise. They were fun.

A very good looking and intriguing walking simulator with a few very simple puzzles thrown here and there.
A very good looking at times. Lots of beautiful details. Bright colors along realistic looking scenes and somewhat realistic looking people who never open their mouths, smartly obfuscated when talking. Very impressive for an indie developer.
But what makes these games, is the story, the narrative and the pacing of the gameplay, and those are pretty good too.
The story starts small and grows into a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crazy apocalypse by the end, that makes very little sense, but I'm actually getting used to this happening in those types of games. Lots of religious overtones that might feel uncomfortable at certain points to certain people.
The narrative is fine. It's the combination of written notes and recordings, inner monologue and illusionary flashbacks. Basically, the usual tropes for these kinds of games. Nothing outstanding, but what's there is well done.
The gameplay is surprisingly efficient. The walking segments are very short and concise, the interactive scenes and objects are well placed and trigger just the right amount of cutscenes, and the puzzles are logical and very simple, serving more as an engagement tool than a challenge. I was never bored or stuck, always having a clear idea of what to do and where to go.
If you like a not very long, entertaining experience that doesn't require much investment or effort, yet feels satisfying by the end - go for it.
And if you like it - check this developer's other titles. He's pretty good at this.

An excellent experience despite a few annoying flaws.
First, the graphics are very nice. Very good use of pixel art. Lots of atmosphere, beatiful art and animations.
Second, the music perfectly sets the mood and adds to the emotional journey, never taking over.
Third, the gameplay is smooth, though never really challenging. Some platforming, some basic puzzle solving, a little bit of "combat", lots of walking and very little metroidvania elements, where things locked or not available in the level at first, will become so, once certain item is obtained or puzzle is solved, backtracking pending. Overall, none of those overstay its welcome, and the game switches between activities at a very good pace, keeping the gameplay flow nicely.
Now to the flaws:
First, the story is bashingly confusing at first. It's all atmosphere and mystery, but lots of confusing nonsencial narration that basically means nothing and has very little effect on the eventual resolution. The meaning behind all the alegories and metaphors got so lost, I barely remembered anything while playing. Only towards the end, things begin somewhat to make sense and then the ending bashes you on the head with an "aha-a-a!" moment that really feels quite disconnected, though starting to fit the narrative in retrospect. But not before that. So, the narration gives very little motivation to play. Thankfully, everything else compensates nicely.
Second, the knight sections are frustratingly simple and repetative. These are the only sections where you're barely engaged in anything but button smashing in extremely simplistic combat, except the enemy doesn't really fights back. I understand that narratively it works, but gameplay-wise it is simply boring and annoying.
Same with the old man's sections. You just walk. Very slowly. It halts the game and tests your patience. Fits the narrative, but works against the gameplay.
Third, the controls can be wonky sometimes. It doesn't bother most of the time, but occasionally it would really hurt the experience.
So in the end, the game left me with a very pleasant after-taste. The story was good and packed the emotional punch needed after the confusing beginning, the gameplay was fun and easy and the graphics along with the music contributed a lot to the short but very good experience.

I actually really enjoyed the game. But yeah, expectations need to be adjusted. This is not an adventure game, this is more akin to Heavy Rain or The Walking Dead. Gameplay is minimalistic, in a way of puzzles or any interactions beyond walking, talking and some very basic interaction with a limited items in the environment. Not a walking simulator, and not an interactive movie exactly, but something very similar.
In narrative games like that, plot and characters are very important, and here it works pretty well for what it is. We get enough background on some of the characters and most of it is pretty fleshed out. However, the protagonist is really unlikable to the end, so it's kinda hard to empathize with him. But on another hand, that's life, that's actually kinda realistic. Most people aren't saints and can be real douchebags or become ones during their lifetime.
As for the plot - it held decently well up to its ending where as usual in these type of games, movies and TV shows, it all collapsed on itself, leaving a lot of loose ends and logical questions. But that was kind of expected.
Another thing that irked me was the stylistic choice for the graphics. The environments are pretty good looking with nice stylistic textures and lightning, but the human characters are all made out of awkward low-poly models that just don't look well in this world and really stand out. I see very little reason for that, so that bothered me throughout the entire game.
Everything else is very decent. The voicework is good, the music fits the mood, though nothing really stands out and the motif gets repetative very soon.
All in all, I do recommend the game for people who like narrative experiences with little actual challenge and active gameplay. These kind of games certainly have their place, when done well, and this one is very decent, especially for its price and the short amount of time it takes.

What a wonderful experience! It's kinda an open world game where you roam around the game area, meet different characters, get "quests" and can explore the world and engage in different activities in a form of mini-games or go streight to the end mission and finish the game in a SHORT HIKE to the top. However, the world around you is so fun and interesting, that you would much rather to stay awhile and prolong the experience as long as possible. The graphics are cheerful and pleasant (you can get rid of the pixelated look if you want to), the music is thoughtful and atmospheric and the writing is simple but funny.
Recommended, if you're into a game that is more of an experience than a goal-oriented narrative game.

A nice atmospheric horror adventure game that despite being short still manages to run out of wind by the end. The inventory puzzles are very easy and flow naturally, the very few stealth elements are extremely rudementary, the dialoge options don't matter a bit, and the plot just ends with a wimper. So why recommend? Well, it is short and atmospheric and in the middle there, it shows some interesting twist on the protagonist, though sadly doesn't follow through. However, it is harmless, as in, you won't get invested enough to get really dissapointed. It's helped me to pass the time in quarantine (damn Covid) and I had a nice time while it lasted. Just don't take it as anything more than that - a nice time passer.

It must have been a very nice mobile game, but quite simplistic and short for PC. The puzzles are really easy and basic. The solution usually sits either in the same screen or a couple of screens away. Sure, the switching of timelines is nice and all, but the realization of it is, again very basic and simple. Good enough for mobile, barely passable on for a PC game. Still, it flows well, doesn't bore and over before it outstays its welcome. Fun for a few hours and that's it.

The prologue was amazing and held lots of promise. None of it came through, unfortunately. Nothing that comes after the prologue comes close to realize the potential. The fantastic mix of the pixel art and the pixel-shader effects displayed in the city scene - barely there and scarcely used. The puzzles and stealth elements - gone. The detective noir narrative - abruptly abandoned for some post-apocalyptic nonsense. And what for? We get a kind of 2D walking simulator that is more linear than a visual novel as you progress forward, that tells us... well... I don't know. Class divide? I guess it's there a little bit. Philosophical musing on what is self? Ahem, yeah... kinda there too. Feminism? Stringed into the dialogue here and there. Pretty out of nowhere too. The destructive nature of man? Ape? Life? Ah, sure. Feels like the creators wanted to touch many topics, but didn't have the time, the resources or the basic idea of how to do it. So they just left whatever ideas there and barely developed them into something coherent.
It's a huge disappointment. HUGE! So five stars for the Prologue. Down one star with each following act. Nothing is left at the end.
