In this review I will give an initial assessment for those in a rush and a list of my personal pros and cons on the game.

Inital Assessment
Outlast is a game I never actually saw myself enjoying due to my fantastic fear of everything. However, following my time with the game although it may look short, was enough time in order to finish the game on normal difficulty. The game regardless of my hatred for the horror genre was highly enjoyable. I would highly recommend the game, due to the low playtime it would be preferable on a sale if you worry about that stuff!

Further assessment
For those of you interested past this assessment the following will be my pros and cons in respect to the game:

Pros
- Fantastic atmosphere, through both the music and setting.
- Does not outstay its welcome.
- The game looks graphically really quite nice.
- Aesthetically pleasing.
- The Camera mechanic is quite interesting and can lead to incredibly tense moments of gameplay.
- Documents, these being for medical patients that truly intensifies the atmosphere.
- The story is quite interesting and surreal.

Cons
- Too many energy sources for the camcorder, no real fear of stumbling around in the dark. (On Normal difficulty)
- Quite Short (But as I have already said as a result doesn't outstay its welcome)
- Personally the scare value of the game began to stray after around two hours of the game.
- No re-bindable controls on the gamepad (I believe there is for keyboard and mouse but when playing in a room of friends these were not particularly viable for me)
- Heavy reliance on jump scares.
- The ending... (Not really a spoiler but this could ruin your enthusiasm to play the game as its quite the con)
- The last twenty minutes of gameplay has the potential to pull you out the entire experience.
- Puzzles can be a pain more than anything as they are incredibly simple but relatively frequent.

Conclusion
Overall, looking through this lists it may come across that I wasn't actually a fan of the game however, it is quite the opposite of this. As regardless of all the flaws that I have listed I continued playing because the intrigue I had toward the game massively outweighed these negatives. So as I have already stated I highly recommend this game because its very well made and an enjoyable time. If my review did not convince you wait for a deep discount and give it a try regardless as the low completion time means it's not just going to be another uncompleted game to add to your steam list with a 0 hour playtime.

This game is a delight to play! I would highly reccommend it especially since it is not just Typing of the Dead but also House of the Dead Overkill Directors Cut, and for £15.00 that is a steal! For those interested I will run down some aspects I liked and didn't like.

Pros
  • Difficulties aren't just determined by how long the word is but uses genuinely complicated words.
  • Very vulgar and offensive, some would say sometimes it goes abit far but personally I wasn't too phased by this.
  • Two Games in one!
  • Grindhouse feel, from the voiceover to the levels put across as movies this is incredibly entertaining in my view.
  • Steam Workshop support.
  • Rankings are used, not much of a selling point for some but it is always fun trying to go back and get a perfect score to achieve S ranking.
  • The Online Co-op is now fully functional! Abit of healthy competition between friends never goes a miss.
  • The game has a relatively good sense of humor in my opinion.

Cons
  • The story is all over the place and very bare bones.
  • The Typing of the Dead game just isn't the same without Lightguns/ Wii Remote/ Move Controller.
  • Unlike the original Typing of the Dead, G and Washington use guns rather than keyboards (not a huge problem but abit disappointing)
  • The game doesn't care about spaces or punctatuation. (outside of the Pro variant that is only unlocked after completion)
  • The DLC dictionaries don't really stick to the difficulty you have set, it will put words way beyond a newbies skill level even on easy.
  • Only the House of the Dead Overkill is Directors Cut, for whatever reason Typing is just the base game we saw released on Wii in 2009.
  • Graphics aren't much to look at.
  • Sometimes when skipping cutscenes there is mild freezing that will stop in a few seconds but is relatively irratating none the less.

So considering the numerous cons I have toward the game why am I recommending the game? Because it is fun, granted it isn't a technical masterpeice and it's graphics don't even surpass those of previous House of the Dead Games (3 onwards) but it is enjoyable to play and in the end it can even be educational. (If only to an extent due to the vulgarity!)
I would say, if the list of cons has really put you off the game then wait until it is on a deep discount.

Evolve is not a game i'm particuarly 'hyped' for, but after recieving this as a result of the open beta for those who own XCOM I thought I would give it a go.

Sadly after approx. half an hour of game time i'm yet to play the actual game, because the matchmaking is so poor, I have been added to games then when it comes to me actually joining the game I lose connection to the host, and so in its current state I would not recommend this game. When I finally manage to get into games I will give an updated review on the actual gameplay!
