You're on a path in the woods, and at the end of that path is a cabin.
And in the basement of that cabin...
...is a Princess.

This review is spoiler-free.

I couldn't truly summarize how I feel about this game. I will not go into detail beyond what you're told on the store.

The game is wonderful. It's heartbreaking. It's complex, and so is every decision you make.
If you loved games like Stories: The Path of Destinies and The Stanley Parable, you'll love this game.

The writing is absolutely top-notch, with an extensive OST to go with it. There were a few routes that were saddening and others that warmed my heart. It's worth the price, and I've gotten extensive amounts of replayability from it (and especially considering that 14 hours (at the time of making this review) is quite a bit for a visual novel).

I feel like what appeals to me most about the game is that every choice you make has weight. To take that pristine blade of yours, or to leave it gathering dust. To hesitate, or to steel your will. Everything you do matters, so do what feels right.

Do not mourn your decisions - for you would not mourn making the right choice.

people recommending this over lethal company are delusional
game is slow, overwhelmingly punishing for mistakes
monsters have basically zero audio cues
upgrades are incredibly stingy by being locked to one person consuming them at a time
even SURVIVAL is stingy - healing only 20 hp after wasting a solid 20 minutes is ABSURD

i mean that's what i'd normally write since i've written it for dozens and dozens of games
so there it is
but honestly
game's pretty good
on a general note i might recommend that you use combat mods such as "new energy system" to make fighting less of a chore because things can get VERY tedious and it can often take away from the story if it feels like too much of a drag

i won't spoil anything
frankly
go in blind
give it a few hours of playtime and see if you like it honestly
it's not for everyone, but it might be for you
worth a shot personally
