One of the most fun FPS games in recent memory. Games are fast-paced and the movement is satisfyingly fun. I'd describe the gameplay feel as a marriage of the slightly tactical (from the early days of Rainbow 6: Siege) with the amazing addition of full environment destruction, and the often positively chaotic (with Team Fortress 2 coming to mind as a reference point).

On top of all of that, The Finals has zero pay-to-win elements, which is basically a requirement for my continued enjoyment. I would have liked it to be easier to obtain cosmetics via play, but frankly I can understand why it is the way it is.

Conclusion: a very strong recommendation, especially if you're a fan of fast-paced shooters and like a bit of fun TF2-ish chaos infused with some tactics and creative problem-solving in your gaming life. Very refreshing.

A beautiful art piece, a pure exploration wrap-yourself-in-a-warm-blanket game.
A relaxing experience with outstanding graphics and well-chosen music.
Not sure what more I could even expect from such a game, apart from more content (if you like this, check out
Matt Newell's other projects).

Team Fortress 2 is by now a cult classic, having stood the test of time, and reasonably so.

It is one of the most diverse and enjoyable FPS experiences to date. From the wide assortment of official content to an unending stream of community-made custom gamemodes and maps, it is pretty hard to run out of things to do. From casual games to competitive matches organized by the community and many wacky custom gamemodes, there's almost always something for everyone.

It should be mentioned that Valve has kind of ignored this game for years, but the community is thriving - the sign of a genuinely loved game.

Supergiant has done it again!

I am typically not one for rouge-likes in general (though I've played a few over the years), which is why I feared I would not like Hades as much as I did the carefully crafted stories of their previous games. I was very happy to find out my worries were completely unfounded.

The way the team at Supergiant married a meaningful and evolving story with the core idea of rouge-likes (doing the same run multiple times, with randomness involved, that is) made the game feel unlike any other rouge-like I've played, or even any other game for that matter. In all their games, Hades included, the team always puts polish into all parts of the game - art, audio, story and game design. I feel this is a huge reason for why their games feel so different and alive. They don't focus on only one aspect of games - they put equal, masterclass-worthy effort into the entire game. What we get is an experience unlike any other.

The music kicks ass, the art-style is imaginative and beautifully crafted, the writing is exceptional and the compelling mechanics together form a coherent and immersive experience that has kept me playing for over 100 hours.

A truly remarkable game, worthy of the game of the year title. If you have not tried Hades yet, I'd definitely recommend it.

I have played a fair share of point-and-click games, but none as beautiful as Samorost 3. Machinarium and The Silent Age come close, but neither have managed to create such a satisfying atmosphere (they both do it amazingly, but Samorost 3 blows it out of the water).
With both stunning art and amazing sound design (not to mention the beautiful soundtrack written by Tomáš Dvořák), it is an experience very much worth the 10-20€ price range this game is usually in. Samorost 3 isn't a long game (around 5-6 hours), but in my opinion quality matters here more than quantity.

While the visual and auditory parts of the game are nothing but a masterclass in point-and-click games, I must say the puzzles in this game were a bit more complicated and harder to solve without hints than in their previous games. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but something to be prepared for if you don't like puzzles that much.

All in all, this is one of the most beautiful games I have ever played and would highly recommend giving it a try.

Definitely one of the best choices-matter walking thriller experiences of this year. The voice acting is superb, and the conversation between characters felt natural.
While the game does not rely on jump-scares to get your blood pumping (it does have a few minor ones here and there, just enough for my tastes), it creates such an immersive atmosphere that it really wouldn't even need them at all.

This is a relatively short game at around five hours per playthrough. The ending will definitely make you want to come back for a replay. There are some collectibles to pick up along the way and quite a few other endings to uncover. I already have and definitely will replay this game a few more times in the coming months and years - overall amazing job with the story and the amazing feel the game manages to hold over the island.

P.S. Glitches occur here and there (mostly with NPC navigation, easily fixed) but do not disturb the gameplay too much.

To me, Backbone: Prologue is an excellent story-driven noir-inspired game. It brings a few interesting new ideas to the already established detective mystery (sub)genre, such as deeper dialogue trees, amazing sound design and stylized graphics.

Where this game especially excels at is the clever writing of dialogue as well as displaying the lively world around you. The level design felt natural, and I never felt like it was designed around the story, but the other way around. Occasional challenging puzzles were very welcome.

While I understand this is a demo, I found I really missed features like achievements and graphics settings as I was having problems staying at 60FPS. Other than that, I ran into no problems or bugs while playing the game.

Can't wait what they come up with next!

If you're ever looking to sharpen your problem-solving capabilities, this is the perfect game to do so. TIS-100 is an unusual, but fun puzzle game, having somewhat of a different playstyle than other games (older feel, kind of simplistic).

When you buy the game, you get a PDF user manual along with it. This is something that I have never seen in any other game (not that that's surprising). I recommend printing the document and having it on hand while you play the game as the difficulty curve goes up fast after the initial few puzzles and the manual helps by providing a quick reference to the mechanics of the game.
I have not seen any problems or crashes with the game, but I can see why this game is not for everyone. If you're an avid programmer or not, I would definitely recommend you pick this game up. However, if unusually hard puzzles are not your thing, maybe think twice before buying.

Marie's Room is an excellent take on telling someone else's story, and it does so remarkably well. The game itself is fairly short (30-45min) but packed with small stories to uncover. Excellent writing ensures that the story is complex enough to not be guessed while keeping the player interested in what is about to happen. The voice acting, along with the music is very good, which really shows in the emotional impact this game manages to deliver. The game environment, while small, feels alive and full of little mysteries to uncover.
The most remarkable thing about Marie's Room is perhaps the development team that created it, proving that even small teams can create these kinds of high-quality experiences. I will definitely be looking out for more games by them.

While being very short (around half an hour), What Never Was is a heartwarming experience, rarely found these days, that quickly managed to capture my imagination.

It provides solid visuals, though it is apparent that the team wasn't big in neither size nor budget, but that is completely fine, as the game's ideas don't suffer from it.
Where this game really excels is the (though short) story. The dialogue sounds natural and the hinted backstory pulls you in. Will be definitely looking out for Acke Hallgreen's next projects.
