I have played many games, some for thousands of hours, and this game is legit one of my top games of all time. Absolutely love it, and it's even better with friends.

A fun, silly game that's a good time with more people. The balancing needs improved on Melee for sure, but the biggest issue IMO is the Logging Lieutenant quest. ONLY TWO ON THE WHOLE MAP?! Needle in a haystack. Not fun at all to hunt the whole time and then die by timeout. At least put like 4 or 5, or a beam/glow/quest marker of some kind?

I'm really having fun otherwise!

This game's requirements are insane. I can run Elden Ring better than I can run this 8-bit game. I'm pretty annoyed about the poor optimization.

TLDR: This game should have been release in Early Access, because it's not finished.

*Day 4 of release* Been playing for about 5 hours now, and really enjoying how chill of a game this is. Even with all the fighting, it's a nice de-stressing game. Enjoyable, addicting, and all around fun.

Pros: There's a little bit of everything for everyone: farming, fighting, loot gathering, upgrades, flashy AF magic

Cons: The combat is a little repetitive, and there's a lot more they can do with the "crafting" system and the fighting, but that's all stuff that can be fixed (plus there are other weapons you can use and I haven't tried out bows yet)

Definitely give this game a go, it's well worth your money!

Quests are awful. Oh my god. Is there even a Second Relic Dungeon?! I have done basically this whole game at this point (14 hours in, lots of grinding for mats but I don't mind a chill game) and I have found at least where two of the other Dungeons *probably* are...but because I don't have the quest I can't go there.

Apparently instead of having a linear quest line, you can get to a pigeon-hole in the quests where if you haven't done 1 of them (out in the field where you get almost no other quests) then you will get no futher quests. The quests are just badly designed, just as bad as the...

TELEPORTERS. LORD SAVE ME, THE TELEPORTERS. There are two teleporters that you can use in cities, a couple of 'checkpoints' that you can teleport to, but not from, makes sense, cool. Then there are so far 3 teleporters that you can teleport FROM, but not TO. One of them in the ice lands up north, has a checkpoint one screen away! LITERALLY 5 SECONDS AWAY. It's infuriating on so many levels.

Additionally, I've heard that the story just ends on a cliffhanger, which means instead of finishing the story on this $20 purchase they're planning on selling you the story in DLC. Good job, you've made me regret my purchase, which I never do.

So, my new review is this: wait for things to be fixed, wait for them to give out free story DLC so there's an actual finished product, because right now? This game should have been Early Access, that's how poorly polished it is.

For a game in alpha, there are very few issues and I"m impressed. While you can't do any real story yet, I'm having a lot of fun figuring out how things work, finding new areas, and capturing pokem....I mean chimera! Definitely worth your time and money, this game is only going to improve with updates :)

Absolutely everything I could have wished for in a follow-up of the first game! It has some bugs still, but they're very much just a little annoying. Once the crew comes back from their break, I'm sure they'll update it to perfection. The Story is compelling, the combat difficult and fun, and the dialogue has me laughing!
