lots of mods. still great game

WOW what a refreshing horror game.. just game in general. Original scenarios and missions laced with some creativity. Very nice in a genre littered with fullblown cliches constantly. The game distinguishes itself as its own divided from the Resident Evils and Silent Hills in my opinion to really make its own testament. It found a way to have a story (a bit whacky but it pays off for the sake of scenarios and environments you end up in) , pretty decent gameplay, has some good thrills and forces you to think your way into surviving. Wasn't too impressed with the first few hours and some of the areas are redundant like within the complex of the Marrow, but glad I stuck it out. Last horror shooter without Resident or Silent in its name to really surprise me until this was Suffering Ties that Bind. Would definitely highly recommend this game. Fully intend another playthrough if not several.

I've stuck to franchise, and the game is in depth for sure. I'm usually a Madden player (which is funny seeing the complaints on this game, because EA has legit exponentially had the same problems, but longer.

That said, I like to keep things short and sweet.
Would I buy the game for the full $60? Probably not
Would I buy it on sale for $20 or less? Absolutely.

Great game, after the patches. The bullet drop, especially sniping is a bit much. But if you're willing to revise in spite of the logic, definitely worth playing. One of the better shooters I have played in a long while that is logically and emotionally interesting. My advice, play like you could at any time miss a shot and get spotted, but also get invested in the game. It's worth it, but never get too comfortable either.

A fantastic game, especially if you love the era of the world it takes place in. Some dialogue is out of place and feels forced, but may be the best of the franchise if you take into effect gameplay and all other factors. Only rival I could give it is Black Flag and.. that's because frickin pirates, man. The story even with it's rare bumps in the road is enjoyable and gripping. The engine is good, better than Ezio's trilogy, but not quite as good as Edward's IV. Nonetheless, one of my favorite games ever made, for a gameplay/story combo. May not be for you, but it definitely picks up after the first 1/4th of the progress into the story

Honestly, one of the best games I've ever played. They put an unreal amount of depth and exploration into it,the gameplay is solid, but not without quirks... obviously any game has them. The story is slow to pick up, but builds into its own, and a good one.. further into the game it gets great. Maybe not as good as Ezio or Connor's story, but keeps the out of animus parts to a minimum, out of 30+ hours in game, maybe spent 30-45 mins out of animus, and the time in the animus was enjoyable as could be. If you love pirates, or love AC before it went downhill, this is a hell of a purchase to make

I tried playing this game on Xbox 360 and just couldnt get captured into it.
I will be the first to tell you, it is a whole other level of experience on PC, especially if you know where to find the right mods. Workshop has a good assortment, Nexus is phenomenal, etc.
You can practically change the game from the ground up entirely for PC. Survival mods, NPC mods, combat mods, lighting mods, body texture and skeletal structure mods (CBBE, UNP, SG real, etc)
You name it, there's probably a mod for it...

And yes, with the right combo of said texture mods, etc.. you can make the game look better than the current HD update and probably better than the upcoming revamp as well.

Anyways, as for gameplay.. it can be clunky (which can also be compensated for), but it's captivating and addictive. If you have never played, whether you like RPGs or not.. (I usually don't) you are missing out. The lore, the characters, the music, the scenery and just the land of Skyrim itself is breathtaking and soothing. It's a refreshing break from games you may love that frustrate the hell out you regularly (cough Overwatch). It will drag you into it's domain like a trap door spider and give you Stockholm syndrome. And you will like it. You will love it for it. Love it damn you.

Be gone the stresses of your crappy job that doesn't pay you for your actual worth. Be gone the nagging of your crappy girlfriend. Be gone your woes of self identity, your quarter-life or mid-life crisis and your worry of bills and rent, and that dumbfound look of how your electric bill is over $300 dollars when your company has had the power knocked out half as often as it's been on... and taken over 4 hours to fix the problem in the middle of the night when you've just laid down to sleep. Damn that all to hell.
You're not that life anymore. You're the mudderfudging Dovahkiin. Dragonborn. Go kill some orcs mining precious ebony ore. Hit that kid in Whiterun with no respect for her elders, or more importantly the damn DOVAHKIIN with a nice little spark spell. Smack that little turd in the face with some fire. Go play inside a volcano very clumsily brat.
Ride in on a white horse to pig-blap an Imperial in the face with your weiner. I'm sure there's probably a mod for such undaunting ballsy-ness. Pay fines and crap for your mischief.. or don't. Go to jail and break out like a baws.

Now stop reading my review and buy this ****, fight dragons... you know you want to.

I rate DovahTen outta ten

It's definitely a refreshing game to play. Has its own charm amongst a market of repetitive BS titles {cough Call of Duty cough}

PS: If you like playing Junkrat or even just the feel of Overwatch, you'll probably love this game.
