It's a general travesty this game most likely won't get a sequel. If you can handle that reality, then definitely play AND 100% Days Gone.

The story is kinda goofy and all over the place.
The characters and cutscenes tend to be campy and predictable.
Towards the end of the game, you can really feel the dev rush to finish the game.
All in all, the game has no right being as good as it is lol.

The only real way to play this is on the harder survival mode. The level of immersion and connection you feel for your motorcycle is unmatched. Every trip out of a base becomes strategic and requires active thinking. Raiders ambushing you on your paths or getting attacked always keeps it fresh and fun. The gameplay loop really is just that good that you can overlook most of the game's quirks.

With the release of the new dlc, the focal point of the entire game is showcased perfectly through its horde mechanics. Not many games can capture the feeling of horde combat, but it's on full display here. The arcade mode itself isn't very robust, but it gets the job done.

TL;DR
The game is mad fun and immersive if you play it on survival. Just don't pay any mind to the jank.

Killing Floor is probably one of the best zombie/mutant survival game i have played in my entire life...
