This game isn't the easiest one to recommend to people. While it is extremely fun to play, never buy it if it isn't on sale. Depending on your ability to learn the game swiftly and your level of patience, this game can be completed easily or it can be completed quickly; that means you can grind everything out or you can speed through it if you know what you're doing. The more you read and pay attention to, the more you're rewarded.

The only thing that could make this game better is a post game. You get to a point where there isn't much to do. I would love if there were bigger ships and bigger fights after you complete the game. Maybe a paid DLC or a sequel that carries your save over could fix that.

They took my favorite game from my childhood, remade it from the ground up, and now I'm excited that I can recommend this game without looking crazy.

Most of the people whining are just people who have nostalgia bias and hate that the games feels more arcade-y instead of being a slog, or they just simply don't know the tropes of the 90s and aren't willing to accept that tropes change over time. The slog was boring and annoying (it's my favorite game of all time, to remind you). This version is infinitely better, so I can now recommend it to people.

Game is on life support. People say things like that a lot, but no really, on their discord, they post their monthly earnings because they don't have any new major updates coming up. The game is actively dying out, and they post what the money they make per month is, sometimes in the hopes of squeezing out a little more while claiming it's to be more "transparent". Game was fun, joined Discord, was pinged every month with an earnings report, left 3 months ago because I was so uncomfortable. I'm not a shareholder, I joined the Discord to get codes for unlockables, but they stopped posting those too.

As it stands, this game is basically dead.

I refunded this game 10 minutes after launching it. It crashed after launch and wiped its own data. 10/10

You guys whining about the upgrade do know you can just run the game in sriv_legacy mode by going to "beta versions", right? And the game is just as jenky and just as clunky as ever.

It's absurdly easy to play the older version, few clicks and you're done.
